I'm wondering since I lost the o-ring on the protank base, is this important? I'm using the base only with Tatroe Tank. I haven't experienced any serious leakage or bad performance yet. What is the benefit of the base o-ring in general?
You can use a Tatroe tank with a Protank base and make a metal Protank.
To OP: o-rings are to seal against leaking, you know that . I can't visualize a Protank o-ring (and I'm too lazy to screw one apart), but if it's not leaking, why worry?
I've actually been wondering if there was somewhere to purchase them. I've got two protank bases, one with and one without. I recently got a Tatroe Tank and I'm using it with the o-ring with no problems. My Protank without the o-ring leaks. Not terribly but enough that I've almost completely stopped using it. I don't know that I lost it but my suspicion is it came without one. I think I'll try the home depot suggestion to see if I can find one that fits.
