Black caps?
You mean a ring, or the actual top is black? Haven't seen that except for the Vaporforce version...
Was it a special issue or an accessory you can get?

Both of my new ProVari's have black stealth top and bottom caps (and extention caps), both were obtained through VapeForce. One is the Stealth Mini V2.5, the other a one-of-a-kind factory prototype hybrid I'll share the details on when I do pictures of them eventually.

PT2s have slots in the base to let air in and the Provari doesn't block them. If anything, the draw from the Protank is TOO airy.

Using a Loki beauty ring can somewhat cover part of the holes but not enough to stop the airflow.

I really don't know what those other people are talking about when they can't get a draw through a PT2.

Mine have always been airy as well, but I have read too many posts lately by people who have had a problem with the draw being too tight to answer with Well it didn't happen to me, so it can't have happened to you. That kind of garbage runs rampant on the forum.

Inadvertently, I was one of the first 400 people in the US to get a Protank, so I have witnessed all of the issues that have come up - from the glue being messed up on the first run to the bases snapping off. Since the too tight of a draw issue is something recent, I have a strong feeling it has to do with the update of the bases more than the devices being used. As stated in the Sweet-Vapes product listing I linked to:

"2 versions to choose from:
Version 1 is the original base on all older V1 ProTanks. This has about 50% larger air holes.
Version 2 is the base that comes standard on all V2 ProTanks, and possibly newer V1 ProTanks. This has about 50% smaller air holes.

The only difference is the airholes, if you prefer a tighter draw, choose version 2. If you were happy with the airy draw on older protanks, choose version 1."

It's quite possible that on some devices the newer bases don't get enough airflow, it happens. I just discovered tonight that the new Aspire BDC Vivi has no airflow with the Bobo.

I don't have a fix for the draw being too tight, but I do have one for the draw being too airy, so I have no issues with the draw on mine. I still think the flavor is muted, but I only use the Protank for unflavored, so it doesn't matter.

Well thanks to ALL for replies.
Still unclear - even ProVape acknowledges that there's variance in the stems, and a PTank may well leave a gap.
I ordered an airflow thingy, which I wanted anyway. I'm still saving for the ProVari (black mini in my future).
And...dammit...just in case...I'm now shopping for my first cartotank too. lol.

Get some of the tatroe bases. I just got 3 of em for my protanks and it made a world of difference.

When I tightened the tank with the stock bottoms all the way down I got almost zero airflow. The tatroe bases are a bit tighter than the stock bases on my vamo but not bad. I can't use my protanks without the tatroe base on my provari unless I leave a gap and the new bases let you snug em all the way down.

Where do you get that? Do you have a link?
