Protank versus nautilus

i always like kanger products. i assume you're talking about the aerotank. i dont have personal experience with these newer products im still rocking the protank 1, tho i have read/watched alot of reviews. the nautilus from what ive heard was better than the first aerotank but they improved the design on the new aerotank mini and mega (improved coil, including a steel replacement for the glass, some other stuff idk) my next purchase is the aerotank mega mostly because of the steel replacement and ease of finding the coils for it locally. pbusardo recommends the aerotank mega over the nautilus so ill take his word for it. aerotank mega > nautilus > older kanger products.

So I have tried many, many different setups from carto's to RBA's. I have used protank 1 and 2 with adjustable airflow. Just got a kanger aerotank v2 and let me tell you, this is the best tank I have ever tried. It does have the upgraded heads at 2.0ohms and it is internal so no wicks sticking out. Also has the slotted holes and not the 2 holes on each side. Ease of use and awesome flavor with HUGE clouds. The aerotank v2 is where it's at. You will not be disappointed. Kanger also released sub-ohm heads also, I think they come in at .8ohms.

They both are great tanks, just find what works for you. The only way to do this is by trying different setups and tanks, it's all subjective. I will say this though, soon as you go to rebuildable tanks you will never look back. The flavor you get from a rebuildable is 10 times what you would get from a replaceable coil tank. I would suggest only moving up if you are not satisfied with what you have now. I still have my nautilus filled up from 5 months ago and I have not picked it up once since I got a kayfun among other tanks. It's probably time to clean it out and gift it to someone that starting out. That's usually what I do with most of my beginner hardware.

I was at my local vape shop yesterday and they just got in a shipment of both the Nauty and Aerotank Mega. We hooked 'em both up to the same kind of batt, put the same juice in both and vaped away. Everyone of us felt the Aerotank Mega was a better vape than the Nauty. Easier draw and better airflow gave bigger clouds and more flavor. My vote goes to the Aerotank Mega from the limited exposure I had, not sure how each would perform over the long haul tho.

I have not used any kanger protanks ever, but I have 2 aspire nautilus tanks. When they are working they are great. My main issue is that replacement coils are expensive and I have had issues with them tasting burnt easily or burning out quickly. Google issues with aspire nautilus coils, and you will see a few links to people with the same issue.

I just dont get all the hype about RBA.
All they do is suck your bat dry and produce tons of smoke.
Id like to sit down with somebody and get them to try some of my tanks. And tell me with a straight face their RBA is better.
Taste cant be that subjective.

In reply to OP I prefer the kanger to Natilus. But forget both and check out the iclear 30s. That thing on a VTR redefined what a tank is for me.

I have Kanger Protank 2 and Aspire Nautilus. First and foremost, I wouldn't have ever thought I'd use the airflow control as much as I do. I literally use it several times per day. Also, I don't know if I did something wrong, but my Kanger coils seemed to die pretty quick and my Nautilus coils are still going strong. Last, on the Nautilus, I seem to get much better vapor production on the same juice given the same wattage.

Get an Aerotank base ($5) for that PT II, night and day difference over the standard base. You might be running those Kanger coils a little high on the wattage, I usually don't put more than 7 watts to any of them. YMMV!!

I vote for the Nautilus over the Kanger. I have two Aspire products, the Aspire BDC and the Nautilus. I also own the Kanger Protank, Protank 2, and the Aerotank Mega. All are good, but both brands are having problems with the silver soldered non-resistive legs they use on their coils. The silver solder begins to break down after a few hours and the resistance starts to rise. Once a 2 ohm coil reaches somewhere between 3 and 4 ohms, it's impossible to get a good vape even by raising the voltage. It just begins to burn and taste terrible.

The bodies are easy to re-coil, though. Re-coil the Aspire Nautilus heads with a single coil and all is good again. Check out Rip Trippers on YouTube for re-coil videos of all of the above tanks.

I second the air flow base for all the Protanks. It solves the problem of the 510 threads choking off the air through the center air tube.

I got the nautilus and Aero 2.0 bases for mt2 and pt2.
Pros and cons to both...
I've Vaped tribeca, prime15, midnight apple and the virus on a kanger vv...
Nautilus definitely had more flavor on every juice. Kanger is definitely more muted and the flavors don't jump at you like a nautilus.
The air valve of the kanger is more useful tho. I find myself switching the air hole on the nautilus every few draws. The 3rd hole is too much air, 2nd hole is too tight. The valve on the kanger can be perfectly customized. I never play with it and it has the perfect draw.
Until I learn mods and RBAs, both are definite upgrades over basic tanks and well worth the money. Imo

Grappler... Taliban juice

I have the protank 2 with the aero air flow adapter and love it.just got my air flow adapter today and it's producing massive clouds!! You can get the pt2 and just buy the air flow adapter that comes with the aero and it's cheaper.also I'm using 1.8 ohm coils which I purchased all the stuff from MVS Except the pt2.

Have both , used both, I hated the kanger till the new coils came out. Now I can grab either, and they are both good tanks.
Air flow I use wide open (don't care about adjustment) and coils for either can be bought online for $9.00 - $11.00 for 5 pak (I just add to other orders to save on shipping)
It's a good choice either way! :2c:
