Steve is making a mechanical switch for the Protege???? Will those of us that have the first batch get to obtain one of these????? I'm so scared my switch is gonna go all the time. I have one from the first batch and I don't know if it's the plastic one or which one it is. So far it seems to be doing okay. It was doing weird things a few times, but seems to have worked itself out. I still love my Protege! Hubby thinks the Protege is hot.

From yesterday:
Hey Guys .... We made AMAZING advances in our Mechanical Switch today ... Designed for both the Protege and Prodigy.

We are sourcing different materials to try and add resistance to the circuit of the Prodigy to bring it down to 5v ... The way the switch is designed, you simply have to replace the actual button to drop the voltage. So, options could be limitless...

I'm still at a point where I'm not sure whether to have the Prodigy V2 accept 18650 batteries .... They are quite a bit wider than RCR's and we could drop considerable size by just allowing RCR123's .... If people really wanted 3.7v ... they could use an RCR123 with a spacer ...

Thoughts on this guys?

My thoughts are hurry up with the mechanical switch for the Protege :D (since it's already out and people are having problems) and make the Prodigy V2 as small as possible.

That looks sweet Steve!

I guess it's time for me to start saving up....I guess I have time since it won't be ready for sale for a month...or so.

I love my Protege at 3.7v and my PT at 5v and now with this thing, I can have somewhat of a middle ground at 4.3v.

Will it cost more or less than the new & improved PT?

i could almost bet the PT you have is 5v UNloaded... specially if it's plugged into a computer... usb = 5v to start with, put load on it and it drops.

my 2/100 dollars

Hey Guys ....

A special thanks, to I believe APO and the help of TDM on this little project :)

This USB extension will be sold as an *add on* to current Protege's ... Pretty much turns your Protege, into a PassThrough :)

Although we will continue to sell PT's that are exclusively just PT's, we tried to figure out a lower cost alternative to those that already owned 1 device, and didn't want to pay for a completely new and separate device.

Should be available hopefully within the next month or so :)

Let me know your thoughts :) Thanks!

:( Mr_Slippery helped too - kinda....

i kinda wish i didn't have a passthrough... just so i could buy this... well done Steve.

I thought the same thing at first...

but if this isn't too much I might just pick one up to keep in the car for emergencies... like when I take a dead battery as my backup... like I did one day last week... I went to swap at lunch time and no go... I could have gone out to the car and vaped my head off... lol
