I just sent the seller a text message asking if it was still available.
It does seem to be a "too good to be true" deal but it may just be a good deal.

That would be awesome, wouldn't it?! I have my serious doubts, but maybe..

I was just looking at completed listings on eBay, and I could hardly believe what I saw. One listing for a 30D XPV sold for $400, not long ago... I highly doubt I'll ever sell mine, but you never know... to some extent at least, all of these 30D mods seem to be something that some folks will pay nearly any price, to actually be able to get their hands on a real one.. (as long as it's not too outrageous a price, like three times the original price?) It could be that the 30w range systems (30D clones, SX, and otherwise) that are now being turned out by the Chinese, may actually have the potential to make the real dna systems even more valuable, in the broad scheme of things.. This is all getting really interesting now, the age of the high wattage regulated mod wars is officially under way... I was also just reading about another company in South Korea, who will soon be retailing a couple different 30w systems. One with an OLED just like the dna systems, and looks like a clone, and another, with a larger OLED that displays all the current system data at once.... interesting stuff... very interesting..

Good luck! I wonder why that ad's been on CL for 13 days now, and still no takers? Especially at that price!

To bad I didn't see that a couple weeks ago. That's across town from me. Never thought to check CL. Guess there's getting to be enough things out there that they're showing up. I'd say it's still there because not that many people know what it is.

Yep, based on the electrical specs, both of them "cloned" the DNAs power circuits. The SX stuff with the bigger display clearly had its own firmware written, which is a legit way to compete, but the ones that look like drop-in DNA clones (and use the same display), well I wonder how much of Brandon's firmware those have in 'em, which would be an entirely unethical way to compete.

Tanking about the power levels, I hope they don't turn into a Richard-swinging contest. I don't need thirty watts, twenty is plenty.. In fact the XPV I have on order is a DNA-20, not because I wanted to save $5.00, but because I want the highest capacity battery I can get. In other words rather have battery capacity than the ability to push 30 watts.

The war has just begun. There are so many ways to deliver power to an atomizer. I have been keeping up with Joyetech's plans as well, and they are putting the second eVic out soon. It will be a 30w capable device as well. (and it too uses their own proprietary system.)

The reason I want up to 30 watts, is because I want to be able to power high resistance coils. What this really means, I feel, is that we will no longer have to make LR coils to get great vapor production.

Well, the video is in reference to high voltage and high resistance vaping in general. More coil touching more wick is the direction I'm headed, and I'm more interested in, these days. I've been vaping for almost 2 years now, and have been vaping on low resist coils, to make enough vapor to satisfy. I want to explore the higher voltage range now.

This can be done with both DNA systems, but I chose the 30 because it doesn't seem to be a little buggy, like the 20. I have not heard of the ohm meter/checker glitch on the 30D system. The last thing I want to have to do, is open it and unplug the cell, to get the system functioning properly again. maybe it doesn't happen a lot on the 20D, but why go with the system that has the glitch, when you can go with the system that doesn't? especially when they are basically the same price...

How old is it? Looks good. Guess maybe I should be checking out CL.more.

It was purchased the first week of March. It looks good. A couple of scuffs around charging port. No biggie.
Very smooth transaction. Protovapor booklet, certificate w/serial # and charging cord.

I stumbled across this on craigslist, hoping to pick it up. Browsing for more xpv info, i stumbled across this thread and what do you know, you're the guy that got it! Made an account just to post this. I'm in Columbus, looks like a few of you guys from Ohio as well.

I didn;t really want silver, but I would've flipped it for a black one somehow, and wouldve been able to check out the device in person before dropping $$ on my own.

but oh well, i'm in the queue now, order #690. black on black, green/smooth button, vtc5, removeable clip option :)

can. not. wait.

It was a good deal.
Boyd, thanks for the craigslist link.

Sure thing. I seriously considered it myself, but I guess I let my fear of it being a shady deal, get in the way. Glad somebody got a great deal on it though :) Did he say anything about why he was wanting to get rid of it for so cheap? Also, what color is the fire button? The XPV 30D I ordered is the same color scheme as this one, and has a safety yellow fire button. (Fitting I thought, since it's a pretty powerful mod) :)
