I have spent the last week trying to decide between the full size and mini. I almost ordered the Mini then read reviews stating owners used 4-6 batteries a day vs others that only used 1! How much time actually vaping is reasonable to expect with the 18350's or 18490's? I would love to order the Mini but having to carry more than 1 extra bsttery around in your pocket would kind of defeat its size advantage.

Hello and yes and no to your question.

lol. What I mean is what is more important to you? The bigger provari's are heavier than the mini's but bigger battery means longer length between charging. If you have small hands, you may want the mini. As to the amt of batts you use during the day, it depends on how heavily you use it. Always good with either to have a back-up fully charged battery. And don't put it in your pocket, get a carrying case for a buck or two. Prevents any potential problems.

So I have read that one can expect approx. 1 hour of vaping time per 100mah. Normal day starts at 6am, ends at 10 pm, for a total of 16hrs (1600mah).According to this, 2 18350's (1400mah) would not be enough for a day. The 18490's (2200mah) would be ok and still have some reserve and or compensation for age. Anyone agree / disagree with this rule of thumb for "moderate" vaping?

I go through 1 1/2 - 2 18490s a day. I struggled with the mini/full size dilemma at first and went full size because I wanted the option of 650s in a clean looking device. I knew the 350s wouldn't cut it for a primary device. That being said, I'll probably pick up a mini as well for going out with at night.

It seems like the Mini is much more popular than the full size according to the forums here and elsewhere. I would have thought that changing batteries multiple times throughout the day would be something that would put most people off. Sure the Mini fits great in your pocket but if your other pockets are filled with spare batteries/cases to make it through the day, where is the advantage?

I like the flexibility of the mini, you can use 18350, 18490 (with the extension cap) and 18650 with a tatroe ring and extension cap. I typically use the 18490s. I can start the day with a fresh one and not need to replace it until sometime in the evening when I'm home. If I'm going out for dinner with friends, I use a 350 in for the small form factor. I generally don't stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

If I know I'm going to be out for a long day, I have a nice little kit that I pack up with spare batteries and tanks to switch out flavors too! I'm more likely to want to switch flavors than swap out the battery.

Battery life will depend on how much you vape and how many watts you vape at. I have the standard with the Tatroe extension ring running 18650's. But you can put 2 Tatroe rings on the mini and go 18650 too. I'll use the 490's at home and change to the 650's for work. Also take 2 spare batteries with me. I vape at max watts, which goes through batteries pretty fast, tis why I'm doing the 18650's now.

It's a matter of what is pocket friendly. The mini fits in a front pocket easier than the standard (unless you are trying to impress some ladies). I always carry a spare battery with me where ever I go when I leave the house, whether it is with the standard or mini just to be on the safe side. No charged battery = no vape. A spare 18350 battery takes up very little room in a pocket.

I got the mini with the 350 batteries. Use about 1.5 batteries during the day. Use a semovar at home with 650 batteries. If the ProVari would be your only mod, I would get the mini with an extension cap to be able to use 350 and 490 batteries. 350 for going out and the 490 for home. This way you get a compact and a longer setup. And get at least 3 of each the 350 and the 490 batts.
