1.5 ohm ones will usually work at low voltages, though sometimes they can be finicky since the resistance can change a little while you're vaping. If you're trying to use the 1.25 ohm ones, you're SOL since even at 3.3 volts they'll trip the over-current protection in the unit. 2 ohm and higher work fine, though :)

I just bought a Dual Coil Tank from Vaporescence and it won't work on my ProVari. Even at low Voltages, the juice tastes burnt.

.....

Also, warning with your tank and punched cartos.. if your using pg/vg mix,, try keeping VG on lighter end of mix. I have juices that work really well in DCT MAP tank at 70/30 pg/vg mix, but 40/60 pg/vg is hit and or miss in tank.

Hope this helps too))

Everybody's experience on that seems to vary quite a bit. Lately I've had a couple of AVE juices (Gorilla Juice and Root Beer, both all-VG and very thick) in a couple of my tanks and they're still wicking just fine after several refills. Other than a handful of pre-mixes, I DIY most of my juice and use a high VG ratio, also with no issues.
Still, different cartos will perform differently, so it's still sound advice to try a thinner juice to see if it improves anything ;-)

How come I can't get them to work together? All I get is error messages.

I had the same problem when I first got my provari. I was used to using the DC 1.25ohm and the 1.5. They are right on the edge of the cutoff setting. Once I found some 2.0 dual coils I haven't had any problems. I get my DC 2.0 from Brent at Hoosier E Cig Supply lowest prices I have found. Good luck with your provari-gotta love it!

I've been away from ECF for about 8 months since I got my Provari. Decided to check back in and see what was new. Not much has changed in regards to PV's... at least in terms that there is something out there that rivals the Provari in any marked terms.

However, my interest was piqued in the dual coil atomizers that I read about on ECF--not carto's as I am not much of a fan; I love my direct drip. So I ordered a 1.5 ohm dc atty yesterday (that's all they sale at this time) from Clouds of Vapor based on the reviews from their site. According to reviews on cov, people are running these at 3.7-5 volts with no issues on their Provari, along with other PV's. What am I missing? Is StevefromNY situation just an anomaly, or is there a lot of people having this issue?

cheers and thanks,

I think you answered you own question here.. dual coil attys are different than dual coil cartos? Is that what your asking?
No experience with this type of 'atty',, so can't comment. I try to stay away from anything low resistance, when it comes to ProVari.

If it's really 1.5 ohm total resistance (two 3 ohm coils in parallel), then anybody telling you they run it at 5v on their Provari is just blowing smoke. It can't handle the amperage for that. The only way a dual coil atty would work at 5v on a Provari is if the coils were wired in series, giving a total resistance of 3 ohms (if both coils are 1.5 ohm)

I can't really comment beyond that as I have no experience with those attys, nor do I know anything about them other than that they exist ;-)

Agreed. And all dual coils are wired in parallel. The only other factor would be that there is always a bit of leadway in the manufacture, so a DC labelled 1.5 might in fact be 1.7 or even 1.8, which would get it close to 4.5v, but not 5v.

Like I posted in another thread just a second ago, I've experimented a lot and find the SmokTech Dual Coil 2.5Ohms (XL size) to be the best fit with my Provari. Very consistent vape and reliable cartos. I find Boge and other popular cartos are either very inconsistent in their performance or burn too easily or leak too much. The Smoktech's don't have any of those issues (only slight leaking issues when overfilling)

as I have mentioned in other posts, I've had no problems using 1.5 ohm dc's up to 4.2v, 2 ohm dc's up to 5v (all smok techs)......each and every provari is going to react different to the same exact carto...all based on the quality of parts, the different variables for each part in the circuit board, differences in assembly, how much solder actually stuck to the parts and board, production part batch quality, etc... Ive seen and heard others vary from .1 to .3v from the norm before cutting off...mine for some reason happens to be at the higher end... I use the 1.5 ohm dc's with all my 3.7v mods and the provari, with the same carto, still outperforms them, regardless of battery size...even now, i'm running a 1.5 dc in one of my cartomator tanks, it's set at 4.1v, and output under load is reading 1.6ohms and running at 3.8v ( all my juices are 70/30 or 60/40 pg/vg, atm in the tank is 70/30...)
