Provari fires by itself?!

I recently got a Provari v2 and am curious about a few things. Whenever I check the battery, it auto fires for 16 seconds ...? Just wondering if anyone else's device does THAT. My next question is less important and a little more personal. I personally favor rebuildables, and can't seem to build one that will fire at 6 volts. Is there a wattage limit as well as the amp limit? Because my kfun is a little upset. Provari seems to not want to be over 3 amps not the 3.5 advertised on the website. I've done a bit of research on my own and haven't returned any real results, come to trust the people here on e cig forum (new member, but I've lurked long enough to know some folks names).

I'm not positive, but I seem to remember the v2.0 having a 3 amp limit. The 3.5 amp limit is v2.5, but someone correct me. So if you want to use something at 6 volts, you'll have to build a coil around the 2 ohm range.

And auto-firing while checking the resistance (and battery voltage) is completely normal. :)

I have a Provari Mini, the original one, so with the V2 chipset, and the lowest resistance you can take to 6 volts is 1.8ohm, in my experience. The V2 and the V2.5 are the exact same thing, Provape just updated the engravings on the tubes. Electronics remain the same, so anything mini, or standard after the V1 is 3.5 amp limit.

I'm running 3.75 amps ATM with a Taifun GT @ 0.8 ohms / 3.0v on the v2.5. (11.25 watts) Very good vapor production and flavor. :vapor:

The specs for the v2.0-2.5 are 3.5 amps / 15 watts

ProVape underrates their electronics:

While reviewing this table, be aware that this is the guaranteed production test limit. Because of part
variations, typical unit outputs are higher than what is displayed in this table for both models.

Many thanks. Maybe it makes sense but... that upset me. Is that common? On other APVs I mean. I guess I'm newb. My buddies all yo sub ohm! I'm like, ouch that's hot, but I still want 20 freakin watts on my damn coil. To be honest, I just read the Provari manual online, and should've from the start. Ha! Guess l just can't get away from the natural completely after all. Thanks again guys.

The Provari tests ohms and voltage "under load", meaning it sends power to the atomizer while measuring the resistance and voltage. This is a more acurate and pratical way to measure voltage and resistance.

Another great thing about Provaris right there

Just make sure you don't dry fire a cotton wick while checking your resistance or voltage. :glare: I'm sure most Provari owners have done this at least once in their life.
