So, obviously, it came today. This is the used one I picked up off the classifieds, so packaging is not relevant to what you'll see, but it was packed well. I'll probably go over some of the points already covered, but I also had a couple questions of my own answered.
The Good:
- It remembers your power setting when the battery is removed. I know this, because I popped the battery in, took a deep drag, and coughed up a lung. I discovered it was set to 5.3 volts. Little much for me.
- The interface is natural and intuitive. I've had it for less than an hour, and I'm handling it like a pro.
- The build quality, the looks, the heft, the sturdiness, all that stuff that's already been covered in every ProVari review posted. Ditto. All excellent, and all true.
The Not-As-Good (there really is no bad with this thing):
- One of the things I liked about the eGo was that cone. No, it wasn't just decorative, it also acted as a muffler. When I took a drag, it silenced the air draw, so it wasn't heard. Like all PVs that don't have this muffler, you can definitely hear the draw on this one. I'll figure out a way to get that cone back. Or some way to muffle this thing. Stealth vaping is difficult when you're doing your very best impression of a tea kettle.
- It's not as big as I thought, but still plenty good sized. Not as convenient to handle when I'm driving (stick shift) and not as easy to position. I'll adapt.
I've tried it with both the big battery and the small. Both are excellent. I've tried it from 5.3 volts (cough) to 3.3 volts (was there flavor in that?). It fits perfectly in the cup holder in my car (bonus!) and will fit better when I fill the thing with a custom foam insert to be a cradle for it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have found my PV. My eGo has been passed to my little sister, to help get her on the vape and narrow.
