So, obviously, it came today. This is the used one I picked up off the classifieds, so packaging is not relevant to what you'll see, but it was packed well. I'll probably go over some of the points already covered, but I also had a couple questions of my own answered.

The Good:
- It remembers your power setting when the battery is removed. I know this, because I popped the battery in, took a deep drag, and coughed up a lung. I discovered it was set to 5.3 volts. Little much for me.

- The interface is natural and intuitive. I've had it for less than an hour, and I'm handling it like a pro.

- The build quality, the looks, the heft, the sturdiness, all that stuff that's already been covered in every ProVari review posted. Ditto. All excellent, and all true.

The Not-As-Good (there really is no bad with this thing):
- One of the things I liked about the eGo was that cone. No, it wasn't just decorative, it also acted as a muffler. When I took a drag, it silenced the air draw, so it wasn't heard. Like all PVs that don't have this muffler, you can definitely hear the draw on this one. I'll figure out a way to get that cone back. Or some way to muffle this thing. Stealth vaping is difficult when you're doing your very best impression of a tea kettle.

- It's not as big as I thought, but still plenty good sized. Not as convenient to handle when I'm driving (stick shift) and not as easy to position. I'll adapt.

I've tried it with both the big battery and the small. Both are excellent. I've tried it from 5.3 volts (cough) to 3.3 volts (was there flavor in that?). It fits perfectly in the cup holder in my car (bonus!) and will fit better when I fill the thing with a custom foam insert to be a cradle for it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have found my PV. My eGo has been passed to my little sister, to help get her on the vape and narrow.

It just gets better as I get more familiar with it. I've found my "sweet spot" with my preferred cartomizer (CE2 2.4 ohm ceramic carto) - 4.0 volts. I experimented up a little, down a little, and with different juices. I still like my menthol, but for some reason it isn't as compelling at that voltage as it is on my old eGo. Maybe because my other juices are so much better that it's suffering by comparison? Today was a Green Apple day.

4 volts gives me a medium-warm vapor, mild throat hit, and fantastic flavor. I wouldn't have known that if I didn't have this, I just knew my eGo was lacking in something. Now I can reproduce the vapor I've seen in video reviews, and I can taste the flavor in all my cartos. Just for fun, I tried that blind taste test someone in the newbie forum suggested - mix up your cartos and take a puff off each, to see if you can identify the flavor. Yup, every one of them.

I vaped off one of the shorty batteries all day, and just checked it. It showed 3.9 volts fresh off the charger and it's showing 3.4 volts now. No flashing of the light, so I'm not that close to running it down. I had to drive a couple of places for work today, and holding it while driving felt more natural, so I am adapting.

One thing that's odd, and I don't think it's related to the PV, I think it has something to do with the higher power and the carto. I've never had a problem with my carto wicking out before. Today I vaped as usual and found I had to resort to the "shake between drags" trick to keep the vapor production up. My carto isn't running out any faster but the wicks run dry faster, and I have to shake it to re-wet the wicks and keep things flowing. If I had to guess (and since I don't know, I do have to guess) I'd say that the extra heat is more efficient at using all the juice near the element, and it takes longer for the juice to wick up through the dry part. I've got my order in for larger cartos, and I gave in and put my name on the notification list for the tank mod using the CE2. It's supposed to wick much better. I've also started figuring out ways to convert my clearomizers to tanks, since I can't use them as they are.

Anyway, I'm happier this evening than I was last night, and last night I was completely satisfied. Still over the moon pleased with it, still glad I spent the money, still don't think it was any kind of mistake on any level. Five stars and two thumbs up!
