Provari + Jtank + 3ohm Boge = Burnt Carto's...Help!

Hello all. I am using a 3ml J-tank, a 3.0 ohm Boge Carto, and a Provari set at 3.7 volts. I am vaping Vaperite's VR4 (an organic RY4) at 18mg. The juice is blended at 50/50. It tastes amazing for a while, but about halfway through the tank, it starts to taste like a burnt carto. Shortly after that, the carto starts to muck up and burns out.

I've tried this several times using both Smoktech and Boge cartos. I'm burning through 1-2 cartos a day. I took everything out of the foul tasting cartos to see what was going on, and found that the paper wrapped around the inner core was gritty and burnt, but not dry. It was soaking wet with the juice. The atomizer and inner core looked great.

Is there something that I'm doing wrong...or a different way to vape this juice on my Provari? This is my favorite juice right now, and I really want to use it in a tank.

are you filling the carto up before placing it in the tank? how may holes are punched into the tank?

Aaron, I'm wondering if the hole for wicking that's in your cartos is the issue. The Boges need two pretty decent size holes punched in them and the SmokTech only needs one, if the juice if thicker, a bigger hole may be needed. That's about all I can think of. Maybe try refilling the carto itself when you're getting close to half a tank and see if it will continue to wick the rest of the tank without burning. Best wishes.

Yes. I am filling the carto.

As for the holes, I'm using a dremel to cut 2 pretty good sized holes on opposite sides of the tank. I watched a Pbusardo video on youtube to learn how.

I do turn it up when vaping my tobaccos, but the RY4 tastes really burnt at the higher voltages.

The Vaperite VR4 doesn't work well in cartos at all. It'll gunk up an atty pretty fast too. I really like the stuff, but it's almost too much of a pain to deal with.

Punching holes in the cartos seems to allow better wicking than the dremel. I'd say it's worth a try.

If you do find the right juice that set up on the Provari is best around 4.7v so don't turn it up too much! I use 30vg 70pg mostly.

i am having the same problem!! the only thing i found is to watch the video about how to fill the jtank there are three --they told me if i didnt fill exactly the same way it would be burnt taste mine was like hot pepper in my mouth and just unvapeable--
i believe when the cap is taken off and put back on it make enough pressure to fill into the holes in carto==
well good luck and post if u find out a better way or why this is happening--i was vaping johnsons creek on my ltat 3.7
also some vanillia mixture from vape4life

THIS is the EXACT problem my wife is getting with the jtank and boge carto. About half way and ban. Now we have done one hole, two holes, hell three holes. I've done one cut and two cuts with slotting. Nothing works. And I haven't figured it out.

The smoktech tank and carto works better. Two holes. BUT it doesn't taste spot on. A little harsh on TH.
