get the one you can afford and enjoy it.. I dropped my pro vari and it did break. had to send it in so no device is indestructible.

Very true nothing is indestructible but IMO the provari comes as close to it as you can get. I have dropped my provari more times than I want to admit plus once it went flying 15 feet and from about 6 feet in the air with much forward momentum it hit the concrete driveway several times then slid at least 3 or 4 feet before it came to rest. All it got was some scratches on it from what was more or less me throwing it as hard as I can at concrete. I have seen the lava tube in person and while I thought I wanted one to take to work so my provari doesn't get damaged I will pass. I know I got lucky with my provari but no way would the lava tube have taken the abuse my provari took.

Its about as big around as a flashlight and the same length as a 900mah ego-t

Maybe the guy in the video review I saw had very small hands but it looks a Lot longer than a 900mAh eGo.

Isn't a 18650 battery 65mm long? If it is then it looks like a Lavatube is about twich as long. (130mm = 5.12")

I saw it in a youtube video guy held a 900mah Ego T atty and cart next to the LT and they were almost the same size. With a carto or atty its longer

An 900Mah eGo with a Atty/Cart = LT alone?

If the OEM, or perhaps someone who has one, would post the Size and Weight Dimensions than there wouldn't be any guessing.

I will say that I like the price and the digital readout is the way to go. Maybe they will come out with a 18490/18500 version down the road.

it kinda looks bigger in pics, not much longer than my 1100 kgo with a boge carto on it, its bigger on the round, kind af feels better in your hand than the kgo not so tiny, some of us are used to big things in our hand. LOL

Don't own a 1100 kgo so not sure how long that is.

Any chance you can find a ruler and take a quick measurement?

Provape has rightfully capitalized on bringing their device to market sooner. I don't want to mess around with error messages and pushing the single button 7 times for this and 11 times for that and 13 times for this and that it's a joke. I also don't care what it looks like so yeah, I bought a Lavatube and it works every bit as well as a Provari and has the same one year warranty and is way cheaper. Due to the cost of this device it almost makes me despise Provape and I take comfort in knowing that the Provari gravy train has slowed down until they create something else.

I get not wanting to buy one if you don't like the price or the features, but to despise Provape and like the fact that you think their sales are in decline is hard to understand. It's like despising Maserati because you think the Porche is more reasonably priced or easier to operate. To each their own, and long live capitalism.

Based on the number of people running around the forum talking about their new ProVaris, I don't think sales have declined as much as you seem to think.

Don't know about the despise part, but a little competition is always a good thing.:) Kudos for someone giving ProVari as run for it's money, as it were. I've got a Lavatube on order right now....

The Lavatube is 126mm or 4-7/8". Here's a quick snapshot for size comparison...
lava_size_02.jpg

(Left to right: eGo 650, Riva 1100, E-Power 14650, Infinity, Lavatube)

I had weighed the Provari at 5.6oz and the Lavatube is about 3.6oz - both fully loaded with battery and carto.

The Lavatube does go to 6v, just not with LR atties or cartos attached. If high voltage and LR are your thing, neither the Provari or the Lavatube are going to do the trick.

I like the Provari a lot and still would like to get another one sometime, but I can't fault the Lavatube for the price. I've had it for about three weeks with no problems.

I agree I doubt it has affected provari sales much.

Sure I think the provari is overpriced but every time I have tried to save a buck it cost me the price of the cheap version and the cost of the over priced version. Never have I been happy with the cheap stuff It either breaks or just lacks in one way or another.

Heck I havent even vaped more higher than 3.7!
That's not as funny as it seems. Depending on what 3.7v device you are using, you may be surprised at what 3.7v under load is actually like. My Infinity has a 1.7ohm carto on it right now at only about 3.8v and that combination makes for a pretty good vape.

cyberwolf, not laughing about the 3.7V at all. I wasnt clear enough and i was laughing at myself. Im new to vaping, the only equipment i ever used is my 1000 mah ego style battery, damn happy with it and still using it till my provari comes. I know vaping is for me, or maybe i've decided I don't want to smoke analogs anymore so what i did was pulled the trigger from my starter kit which is only about 2 weeks old straight to the provari. No turning back on my end.. :D
