Provari question

Im looking in to this whole VV thing and i thought i had it figured out until... If i run 1 18650 AW IMR at 3.7v can I adjust it to 6v using the provari? If this is the case and I can up the voltage of a batt I understand why everyone wants one of these... If not im not an idiot im just trying to figure out why everyone loves the VV thing since Ive never had an issue with batts losing power before i recharge them.

Yep got a voltage booster works great got 2 of them aw batteries work great voltage up to 6volts with the 3.7 18650's.

Wait so all i need is the provari? (it has a voltage booster built in?) an AW IMR 18650 2900mah and i can boost it to 6v?!? Is this dangerous at all? Seems like it would explode or something... If this is the case how much vape time would i see from 1 charge?

I dont think AW makes an IMR 2900 mah its a lithium ion battery that is

Right mine is AW IC 18650 2900mah black and silver... Not worried what batts works... Im wondering with the right 3.7v batt can i boost the voltage to 6v using just the provari?

Thought I read somewhere that provape only recommends the IMR battery not the black one, not even sure if it fits.

Edit: miss read your post. Yes the 18650 IMR will work if you buy the extender for the mod. It will take 3.7v and up it to whatever the max is the provari can go. That is what is kind of unique about it.

I don't own one, I have been doing research on it to decide if I am going to get one. It ups the voltage at the cost of battery life, as far as blowing up that's why you only use a IMR in it.

I'm sure somebody that has one will comment on it soon.

The ProVari was engineered to use the IMR high drain batteries that ProVape recommends.

I don't think that the ProVari would have been engineered to pull on the batteries to an extent that would cause the batteries to malfunction.

The AW IMR is a high drain battery. Damage will not be incurred unless the battery is pulled below ~2.5v. The circuitry in the Provari cuts off when the battery reaches 3.2-3.5v(can't remember which). In any case, the Provari stops firing LONG before the battery risks damage.

I have one AW IC 2900mAh battery...it works with the provari...since its a flat top...i use one magnet spacer. only issue is the bottom does not screw all the way in...there will be about a 1 mm gap

The protection circuit that's built into the battery on those makes them slightly longer, that's why the cap doesn't screw on all the way. The IMR batteries are safe chemistry and don't require the protection circuit to be built onto the battery. The provari was designed to use the IMR batteries and this is why the cap won't screw down all the way on a protected battery. People have been using the protected batteries with out any issues other than the cap not screwing all the way on.
