I want to try to quit smoking again so I dug my old Provari v2.5 out of a drawer but I need a new battery. Manual says an 18500 for use with the flat cap, but there are all kinds of variations on this battery and I don't remember specifically what I was using. Obviously I want a reliable, quality, safe battery. Would appreciate some recommendations. Thanks much!

Wow. Long time since there was a discussion here about Provaris.

I still use 2.5's. The batteries I have at the moment are Samsung 30Q 18650 which are good batteries. You would need an extended bottom cap to use those. You can get them at Battery Junction or 18650Batterystore, which are both reliable vendors. There are others available, just be sure to get the unprotected button top type.

If you don't have an extended cap you would need 18500 batteries. I looked but couldn't find any apart from Amazon and Ebay and so forth. Stay away from those.

If you don't have an extended cap I might be able to help. I have a couple of 2.5's that died. The extended cap might be colored with scratched up paint. But better than picking up dodgy 18500's from dodgy vendors.
