I note your location is Toronto... The complaint my fellow Texan makes is fairly common down here in the southlands. Not uncommon for a 30-40 degree (F) temp swing in the summer months just going in and out of doors. That does put some pressure on a tank.

I was just in Florida and had no leaking issues with my Kayfuns.

I am kind of surprised that the provari is still a good mod, I have never seen anyone else carry one and very rarely do I see a tube style. Its not a cheap device so I am glad it is still a contender.

To be clear, it doesnt get jammed on the mod, the baseplate gets jammed to the tank, and you literally HAVE to unscrew it there to rebuild.

I found the Lemo 2 RTA online for 27 bucks, seems like a deal if it turns out to be as good as supertrkr states.

Good tip about the Rayon, might give that a shot if the new tank seems to struggle with that issue as well.

I replaced all of the o-rings and gave it a good cleaning trying to stop the leaks last time I decided to troubleshoot the problem. I no longer trust the tank, its going to dump brown oil on my work clothes on occasion.
Yeah, then try a new tank. You could also try a clone version of the KF4 for less money then the Lemo, before dropping the hundreds of bucks on an authentic. FWIW, I have the "hard to unscrew" problem on all my Kayfuns, including my V4. I have found a couple of those flexible rubber jar openers from the grocery store to be a useful tool for this problem. And definitely, the ProVari is still an excellent piece of gear. American made, industry leading warranty and-- wonder of wonders-- if it ever breaks, which isn't likely, you can send it back and get it fixed. They kinda fell off in popularity for a while because their signature variable voltage tech is kind of Old Skool now variable wattage machines are so freely available, but they have fixed it with their P3. Everybody would use them if they made more power, but they just don't put out the juice for deep subohm and big clouds. There's nothing wrong with the one you have, I'm sure. At that power level, it's a dream.

the Kayfun the OP has is the same as I use ... they tend not to leak without a bad o-ring causing it.
I agree. They're wonderful tanks for mouth hitters, once you learn how to wick them. I like mine, but I don't use them much any more because I don't mouth hit a lot.

Just wanted to write a follow up to this and give suprtrkr a HUGE thank you! I picked up the lemo for 27 dollars from a Chinese company and after a long wait have been happily testing it out. This is a well made tank and I love it. The design is far superior in my opinion in every way to the kay fun. No more trying to wrap the wire from the coil around the screws and having it pop off, no more stuck tank and having to get out the rubber jar openers, no more leaks (!), no more restricted airflow and basically just no more problems. It does seem to make a bit more vapor as well, which wasnt a huge concern for me but it is nice! Thanks again suprtrkr for the great advice!
