I bought my first dripping atty and very excited to try. What's the scoop on 510 to 510? Is it needed or you just did it for extra length for the dripping shield? I don't have a 510 to 510, yet
I seem to recall something to that effect...lolClearly on a ProVari, it is not an issue with soft threads, or threads that wear out.
Some infidel on another thread had the cheek to suggest that Provape installed 510 connectors manufactured in China and imported for the folks at Provape to install. If memory serves, I believe that you delivered the coup de grâce to that silly speculation, Zoe.
Do I remember this rightly?
I've also just recently began with a dripping atty, as it is the best way to sample new flavors.
I have to confess, though, that I am not sure I am doing it right. And it embarrasses me to say that, because dripping should be something very easy and basic, from everything I have read.
I seem to only be able to get one or to puffs before every juice starts tasting bad. Every juice. So I thought maybe I wasn't using enough juice and it was burning. So I started adding more. And then I got a lot of popping and spitting - and let me tell you, it is not pleasant to get a hot bead of juice just above your lip, or even worse, in your eye (yep, have had both).
So it seems that I am either dripping too little or too much juice to the atty. I have yet to find my "goldilocks" number of drops.
Unless I'm doing something else wrong, which wouldn't surprise me in the least.
This was my frustration, too. I was using a standard tip for my dripping, and suffered much like you described.
Take a look at my new drip tip....

See the tiny hole in the top? That protects me from the nasty gurgle-pops! Now, I can put five or six drops in, get about 8 puffs, and no worries. Does this help?
I use a bridgeless and don't recall having any popping issues but since my atty is longer I might not have been paying attention.Yes, I have been using a wide-mouth drip tip because I thought it would eliminate one extra step, since I could drip right into the drip tip. But honestly, I always take it off to put the juice in anyway so I can see what is going on down there. I have plenty of regular drip tips, so I will find one with the smallest opening to use. Thank you, this is a far better suggestion than using my son's ski goggles when dripping (it was a thought).
I am using a bridgeless atty - does this feature have any effect on the popping, as in, making it more or less likely to happen?
No kidding! On a side note, I'm going to buy FIVE more ProVari's, maybe more. And every single dripping system I can try! Got two packages in the mail I had to sign for, except, they were not mine....

Are you gonna let them (him?) get away with dissin' you like that? It is an outrage!
My advice: get rid of them (him?).
LMAO! Any if anyone out there knows these things...that box is pretty big, HUH? That means there's TWO in there! I have no clue what the other box is...I'm tempted to cut a corner and peek.
I need to sign up for the classies! Except, I use PayPal but not signing up for their credit card nor going to register my banking account, I shop on EBay like once a year so don't have a bunch of feedback accumulated and not sure what those other things were. They don't make it sure easy to be a verified member on here, IMO.

True, but I gotta admit, it makes me feel better about dealing with people on there.
If all this sounds too complicated, the simplest (but slowest) option was mentioned above. Fill it to the top and leave it standing up on end for an hour (30min is prolly fine) and let gravity work the juice down around the coil.
Also it may become a little more clear if it's understood what priming does. There is a coil in that carto. The carto has polyfill surrounding the coil. If the coil is fired when the fill is dry of juice, it'll burn the fill, and the carto will be useless flavor-wise.
The real goal of priming is to get the poly-fill between the punch holes and the coil wet with juice. The carto won't "wick" juice from the tank to the coil if that part is dry.
The Ocelot drips a lot.
I am shocked she has not visited the thread yet, if for no other reason to give me grief for shifting my position on dripping!
