BST was a mainstay. Though their first album (founding member Al Kooper vocals instead of David Clayton Thomas) wasn't a smash hit compared to those after they became widely known, I think it's better than any of the following ones. Maybe better than all of them combined. Not sure if the music is still available, but the title is Child is Father to the Man.
I'll admit I had quite a collection of their work from the DCT era, but looking back he seems to be a precursor to the Michael Bolton I-really-need-to-take-a-dump-really-bad overly fake "emotion" style. It got popular for a short while (think Creed) and I'm glad it's mostly gone.
