Called pest control due to Rat poison in attic being ate and fresh manure on floor. Thought it was to big to be mice. Bat Girl showed up today and said there was bat signs up there. They are going to call Monday with a plan. Been at this for almost 4 years now. I really don't want to play badminton with anymore bats. I know, I know... it's illegal to kill bats. It's illegal to kill a human too but not if he shows up uninvited in your house in the middle of the night. I know, I know.... just open a door and let it fly out. Yeah right, tried that. Plus, bat guy said if you let it go, it will come back. We have a garage with a attic. We don't care if they live there, that's fine, but nooooo…..of course not! Well, the last one showed up before Steel came here. Kind of curious (would rather actually NOT find out) how he would react with a bat flying around, Jackie running around with a pillow over her cranium and me standing there swinging at Dracula with a badminton racket and what he (Steel) would do when bat hits the floor if he gets to it before I do.

I'm having a "Love at First Bite" moment here (for any who may recall it).

Had to block my chimney several years ago because bats. Love having bats around. Love seeing them flying around in the evening. Don't want them in the house.
Yeah, I know, right? We like the bats too! But, please, PLEASE stay out of the house! Bat guy comes over, seems like every year, buttons up any openings with copper mesh. Been saying he wants to rent a lift truck to button up chimney. Maybe now he has a dedicated bat boy, it'll get done.

How is your fire ant population?

So far, so good. My leg is almost healed from the infection. Now I am battling fleas my dog picked up on recent road trip. I use Sentinel but it doesn't kill eggs so I had to supplement with Capguard. Always something, I swear.

Long as I don't have bats, I am good. That would freak me out.

Dang, I didn't know folks had bats in their homes. Yuck!
Yeah and it sucks too! Usually I find out when I'm sitting in my chair in the den on my Xbox and it flies at my head and I have to duck. Then, it will fly upstairs to the bedroom and I hear Jackie screaming. They actually wake her up. My Grandmother, who lived here before us, bought the police department tennis rackets. They kept them in the back of their police vehicles. Lol

So how do you get rid of them? I would have to move, I am tolerant of most things but I can't do bats and snakes.

Umm, whack 'em with a badminton racket. We have one next to my chair and the bed. The bat guy comes over, plugs up any potential openings in the house with copper mesh (can't eat through copper) and puts up a exclusion trap over one of the openings. A exclusion trap is a way for them to get out but can't come back in.
Back when my Grandfather was still alive, he tried to be a nice guy and catch one in a towel to take it outside. It bit him and flew away. He had to get rabies shots.
