I meant your other friend…heeheeI think a certain friend of mine already did....... <giggity>
I had to google this instant pot of which you speak, very interesting. I'm going to do some more research on this newfangled gadget, it looks to be a rather flexible and useful thing to have around.Mmmmm, black beans and rice, yummmm!!!
As a vegetarian I go through a lot of legumes and until recently used the low salt canned variety. I used to have a pressure cooker I used to cook the dry beans in and I killed it after many years of use. I recently treated myself to an Instant Pot and no more cans. And it also slow cooks which is a good thing because my crock pot is ancient and on its last leg…I still have the old fashioned green crockpot without an insert from when they first came out, lol.
In other words, take away the weapon and not the reason.maybe it's a good thing I don't let her cook too often then

If you are often wishing you could cook a meal fast and not in the microwave you'd love this thing. Supposedly you can also cook veggies in it but I only do that when I use it as a slow cooker to make stews.I had to google this instant pot of which you speak, very interesting. Thanks for the recipe!Has any of you ever tried Panera's black bean soup? It's a vegetarian recipe and as a vegetarian myself I've made a copy cat recipe many times. It tastes spot on to the original. I suppose you could add some sort of meat in it.
Copy-cat Panera black bean soup
1 onion, chopped
2 small veg bouillon cubes
1/2-1 teaspoon cumin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cup boiling water
1/4 large red bell peppers
2 cans black beans, undrained
In a pot, combine the first six ingredients; simmer for 10 minutes. Add half a can of beans, salt and cumin; cook for 5 minutes. Puree soup. Add the rest of the beans to the soup. Combine the cornstarch with 1 1/2 tablespoons of water. Add enough water to make soup 5 cups.
Enjoy!
