So for my 1 year anniversary I told myself I'd buy a nice mod. Well I'm about 8 months now and I'm buying a house and I figured before I'm totally broke, I could get myself a quality mod.....

I've narrowed it down to two mods that seem like they are decent price (if that exists in vaping) for the quality...so with price in mind which mod would you prefer? Puresmoker Legacy mini $87 vs Gus Telescopic $140, big price difference but I'd also buy the extension fo the legacy....note: I don't really use 18650 batteries as the mods are just too long for my likeing

I'm looking into quality for the price

I'm also interested in a sophisticated look...imo i think the gus wins here since it's chrome but i'd like to hear other opinions

I'm also interested in using an RBA with these (my first RBA) so if you could recommend which RBA would make each mod look more streamlined or sleek, almost like a hybrid...i've seen sleek looking gus mods but the puresmoker with the top being the way it is...does any rba form fit on the top at all? or will there always be that type of gap.......i'd also like an rba thats not super long since i want the shortage mod possible....all RBA recommendations please let them be a tank, i'm not a dripper

the only other mod i'm interested in is the k100..but where do u get one so i can do some research on them

I have had a Legacy and do have a Gus Telescopic. Both are good. Both have a different feel.

You can put a ZAP on a Legacy (I posted a picture of mine a while ago) but almost any other 22MM genesis is going to look better on the 22mm flat top of the Telescopic.

Plenty of stuff looks fine on a legacy though and there are skinnier rba's though I am not sure how they look on a Legacy...Cobra...Bliss I think...the new doc dave thing that's called like the vortex or something.

I mean, here's the big difference...one is really shiny and the other is sandblasted matte. Oh and the buttons feel totally different too but both lock for pocketing.

As for a shiny RBA, a polished Short DID when they come back in stock would do the trick. I don't drip but maybe an IGO-L?

Have you given any thought to a Precise Plus? Rhodium plated battery contacts and lifetime maintinance and refinish warranties, not much more than a Gus for the 18350 version. It's the other mod in tartanraven's pic next to the Gus. I do like the legacy though, especially since they started selling the different sized tubes by themselves. I keep having to remind myself I have a mod preordered already, I don't NEED another one. :)

I have a legacy, and I love it...as the picture above, it looks great with a ziatty...the only 2 issues I have with it, which might make the diff, although I don't have a gus, is that 1. cant use the trustfire 18350 (not that big of an issue I know, but I don't think you'll have that problem with a telescopic mod, and 2. when the button is in lock mode, the middle of the button sticks out, and the mod is not very "stand able." it stands, but it's balancing...other than that, the button is great. I don't know how well the gus is in that area since I've never even seen one.

I can tell you in the telescopic with a flat top 18650 plus a shortstop, it is right at the top of the threads. I know protected batteries are huge so are trustfire 18650 might be a bit much.

In my Legacy mini, I used either efest or AW IMR 18350's without a problem. You can take the washers out of the switch to have a bit more room or adjust the travel.

I never had the standing issue, it's standing with that ZAP on it. The Gus has the opposite style of button, sticks out when unlocked.

I get the best performance from my gus with this battery:
https://www.rtdvapor.com/online-store/batteries/mnke18650-detail

Congrats on picking up the unit, should pair well with the IGO.

thanks i'll have to check to see if they have them in 18350 or 18500...don't really plan on using it with an 18650 unless i know i'll be out and about the whole day, i have a vv mod that has an 18650 extension now and i've only used the 18650 battery twice, once being new years and another time when i left my house at 5 and knew i wasn't coming home until late in the night

for anyone else checking this thread, I think the legacy would look great with the smaller gen tanks.
think mini did, aga-s, or the Piculisci

seems like i'm going to have to check out the aga-s, something alittle less beefy and i know aga atty's rn't that pricey...at least to start

well i found me a gus telescopic with an igo-l, even though i watched some less than great reviews on-line, i couldn't by pass that i like the gus look better than the legacy

You can get a solid pin for the Gus, I think that is the only issue people have is the spring and pin.
