I have searched for a while before I found this thread. Thanks for the info markarich. I am looking for an alternate power for my passthrough. Does anyone know exactly what the current draw is on the PS PT using a 510 atty. I assume from what I have read here it pulls more than 1 amp at 5 volts. That Joye 510 PT is a piece of junk, I have been using a nicostick I modified by adding a USB cable and It pulls too much current to use safely on a PC.

So I guess I will buy the Prodigy and have it all in one device?

I've done some basic calculations using Ohm's law and some stated resistances for 510 atty's(of course the PT, Wiring, etc.. will add a bit to the resistance, but for simplicity sake I've anecdotally heard standard 510 atty resistances ranging from 3.2 to 3.5 ohms). Knowing the voltage drop to be 5V, we can use ohm's law to figure out the current range for the resistance range. Current = Voltage/Resistance. So at 3.5 ohms ur pulling 1.43A and at 3.2 ohms ur pulling 1.56A. So the average range would be roughly about 1.4 to 1.6 Amps. This makes sense to me since every adapter I've tried at 1amp or below has tripped. My Kensington is rated at 1.5 amp and works and I have a 2.0 Amp AC/USB adapter that works. My desktop USB 2.0 port works, however, I know the current is being limited by the USB controller(I've heard some motherboard USB controllers will allow up to 1.1 amp) because the vape is MUCH gentler thru my computer USB port compared to my Kensington and my 2amp adapter.

As for the Kensington, the Best Buy where I live is currently clearing them out. They were initially $59.99 retail. The Best Buy near me is now down to $17.99 on clearance(1/3 the original retail)!!!!!! You may want to check your local Best Buy to see if they have the same deal.

I went to bestbuy yesterday and found the kensington battery pack for $14.99. I bought 2 of them. They have solved my PT issues.

I agree with you Quovadis, being able to choose what voltage to vape at on the USBPass is truly awesome(actually a vapors dream device). When I get a spare $100 I'm going to call the # you provided. However, a Kensington for $14.99 is an offer you simply cannot refuse.

I ordered the USB Dual Adapter yesterday... I got them today!!

Now granted he is located in Texas and so am I, but I ordered these at noon or a little after and they are now sitting at my desk waiting for my pass thru to get here!!

I called him before I ordered and let him know I was was from the E-forums and he said they would ship out yesterday and he was as good as his word! What a pleasure! If he still has them next payday, I may order more!


I ordered oodles of them. I am going to add them to the stockings for the grown ups! Who can't use one of these??? Even with shipping the total was 3.90 each.. NEVER going to find them any better priced!

Wow Bubbe11, that's really great. The guy(Steve) told me he would make sure people who said they were ordering from the e-cig forum would ship fast. I guess he wasn't kidding. I know it will work well for you. Mine is used daily and works just as it's supposed to. It must be murder sitting there, all ready to go, waiting for the PT to arrive. It's worth the wait.
