First up, kudos on a pair of excellent products. I'm a natural gadget abuser so these things being built like a truck are awesome. I got the Prodigy 901 version (since that's my travel vape of choice) and a 801 passthrough since I love to use those at my desk.
Both performed outstandingly!!! Nice, thick hits and great flavor on both. I have no complaints at all! Battery life on the prodigy is astounding and even though I dropped and nicked the paint on it once already, it's chuggin along like it scoffed at a little pavement.
The passthrough is awesome too. That thick cable lets more power come through for a heady vape, I love it! I keep the excess draped over my DJ mic stand and no issues with it tangling! However, I've run across a little tech issue and wondering if anyone here can give some insight before I write it off as broken.
To begin with, I had to go through about 4 atomizers before one worked. 2 were ones I'd been using, 2 were brand new. (one also broke twisting it on, the adapter threads are hella tight, but a little practice and one mistake not repeated...). Finally one started working, and I've been enjoying it thoroughly until today it suddenly stopped. I went through my 801 atty collection again, trying more new ones and the old ones again (which had started working once the passthrough "kicked in" just fine) and none are working. I've run out of atty's to try and none are even heating up. :-(
So I looked over the passthrough carefully, and it appears the center spot on the adapter is charred? It's blackened in the middle like the brass was scorched. I cleaned it off a bit and tried again, but no avail. I've tried re-tightening the adapter, and also trying it in a straight powered USB hub as well as my Kensington power pack. Just to be sure I hooked up my 901 and 510 passthroughs to both sources and they work fine.
What might I be missing? Anyone got any ideas?
