Purple LED

Just made my wife an VV box and she wanted a Purple LED. The only thing I could find on a weekend was a ultraviolet LED from Radio Shack. WOW these things are bright, she just got home tonight and said she had numerous puzzled looks from other drivers that were seeing her light up while sucking on a box.

Try putting different size resistors on it until you get the right brightness you want...also helps reduce battery drain.

I have a couple of 1K pots - do they work with led's

Sure, they're just variable resistors.. you can dial it to your preferred brightness. It is a good idea to use some sort of resistor with the LED though.
