Putting 'Gripper guts' in a wood mod?

I read a thread where people were putting the guts of a 'Gripper' in tin mods. In the original and in the tin mods the pictures showed that they used hot glue to hold the electronic (buttons, LED, etc.) in place.

If I used wood, could I, should I, use hot glue to hold that in place?

You still can. Hot glue will hold to wood just fine. Depending on how the wood is finished (or not), it may lift out some splinters of wood if you decide to pull it out.

I cut the face plate on mine so i didn't have to worry about making precision holes for the buttons and epoxied it. Now all the controls are on the inside of my boxmod but I made a magnetic panel so it lifts off easily for adjustments.
