Hi, one and all! I've been vaping and experimenting since last August; analog free since 09/11/11.
Current toy of choice is a Joyetech Ego 18650 (a cheap test to see if the mod gets too heavy as the day goes on). I use Dual Coil Clear Mega XL Cartomizers. The problem I'm having is with my juice!
I used this rig through several bottles of Rawr 50/50 PG/VG, and it worked beautifully. Now I'm trying some juice with the same numbers from EC Blends and am mystified.
The juice isn't burning. It isn't going black or picking up that acrid flavor, but within an hour of loading up a fresh cart, the juice seems to brown itself to death! Those of you who cook know what I mean. Like cookies too long in the oven.
I've tested with new carts, used carts, and 5 different flavors from the same supplier with the same nasty results.
Any suggestions? Thank you all for the time!

What day is it
My suggestion is forget about it. Some juice just does that. I use a Vision Stone 3 tank, so I can see it happening right in front of my eyes with a lot of juices, even some that I make myself. It seems to be more of a phenomenon with sweeter juices and juice with vanilla. I'm sure there are other ingredients that do the same thing. I've never noticed it affecting the taste at all, it just looks weird.

I've seen this discussed many times, and nobody has ever had a solid explanation. The consensus, however, has been that it doesn't effect the taste or anything so don't sweat it.

There are a number of juices that do that.

Bobas Bounty, Bounty Hunter any coffee I have come across and thinking about it expat007 has a point about vanilla based juices. It is the colour of the juice colouring the carto. As a rule of thumb the longer you steep a juice the more colouration it get's. I know this to be true of ECB. Haven't used RAWR so cannot comment on their juices really.

Up side as noted won't impact the flavour. Down side the carto won't last as long as a clear juice.

This is the cart I started vaping 2 hours ago alongside the juice bottle I filled it from. Stuff in cart is dark brown, not burned black. Is it possible for a 18650 battery with a "bad" switch to produce more voltage than the 3.7 its supposed to allow on this ego?

No, a bad switch would be more likely to produce less voltage to the coil as it would induce additional resistance in series with the connector resistance and the coil resistance and each resistance in the series will drop voltage. (There's a whole "law" about this...)

You are seeing the juice oxidizing. If that is something you do not want to see then do not expose to heat and air, or put it in something that cannot be seen through. Some juices oxidize quicker than others and this has to do with the various components of the juice. Certain nicotine extractions are more prone to it than others. Certain flavorings are more prone to it than others. (Vanilla is really good at darkening quickly as an example.)

Hoosier, you are a gentleman and a scholar! As a newbie, can I ask one other question?
I got turned onto vaping when a nearby storefront opened. Since then, that storefront has been operating more and more like a mall kiosk. The people who had some knowledge have been replaced by blank stares. The last time I was in there, I was more help to customers than the staff was!
I love having a nearby store, but they may be putting more people off vaping than helping them quit analogs! (I carry business cards from the mail order places i've been happy with. I send people to them, not the local place!)
My question is how do I address this here? Do I relate horror stories, post my complaints on their thread, maybe just avoid naming them at all? What is the respectful way to act here?
