Lol thats why i didnt try to apply but how do you exclude a person that spends hundreds of dollars a month on your site .o well just find another vender that wants the money

IMO that is about testing the newest product with a positive attitude, not about an individuals cash flow.
You want an example why I did not approve you, you can PM me. I can provide links to similar posts.

and she is correct, this is also about having the proper attitude going into this, displaying rash behavior in the alpha thread might cause issues when applying, im not saying you did that, just also agreeing with her as that is part of this as well when applying, this is meant to be done in good spirit and for this to be a positive adult expereince.

my first reaction to the alpha program (now that the details are there and been rolled out), i dont see how "initially" this is a win-win for everyone.
its a win for us users.... because we get to buy items at discounted prices (which we would have bought full price more than likely anyway) AND we get to try/use them very early.

how is this a win for gotvapes? your obviously dont make as much $ as before because i assume you still pay the same price to the factory regardless if you call it beta to us or not? am i right?

to me, it seems more of a good gesture than anything else. oh and if they dont work well, you can always point to the beta-logo,which is understandable. tell me how gotvapes wins here? (aside from the "see how nice they are"!)

the point to having to apply is so there is a stop gap, so people stop and read the warning sign sort to speak.

everyone can see the alpha section but we dont want people being able to buy until they stop and read and understand what this is about and how it works, that isnt to much to ask. We want to illiminate all issues with people complaining aboutissues they have with alpha products by making it where they need to apply to join so they understand that this is a special beta style program and we will keep the prices near cost, this is a win win program, you join and get to buy the latest products and the cheapest prices possible but understand that some might be great and others might not be , thats why your joining, to try, test and report back with your info so we know what to do with those products as we move forward., we wont make you go through a circus but at the same time we want to make sure you agree to the terms and would like to be accepted.

The Scorpion is a great example. Once they dropped, many of us purchased one or more. Some were cracked on arrival, some others cracked within the first week. Most folks report that they get consistent dry hits and it doesn't wick well. I'd dare say that the minority were satisfied.

And no one complained, no one asked for their money back, no one got upset at GV. We take responsibility for our own purchasing decisions because we know it's a gamble and we know what we're getting into.

On another note, payday is Thursday. I'm hoping there's still some lava lamp style batteries/tanks left for me by then if they drop today or tomorrow!

Are they coming in different colors like the pictures you put up, Bad?

GV wins when we win because they can market a product that they weren't initially sure of that happened to be a diamond in the rough after maybe a few tweaks. Over time, they'll see a profit from it after they take it off the Alpha program and integrate it into their inventory. They're getting back what they spent so they're really not out anything and they have the potential to make a lot of profit in the long run from our testing.

I think that Bad said they actually lost $ on the first two Alpha products as a kind gesture to us, which was sweet, but I wouldn't expect it every time and I'm okay with that.

mellow mellow, now i dont really need to explain that now do I. and why would that concern you other then being happy that you get to try new stuff for real cheap.

we win becuase there will be many products that will be in alpha, and some will be great we hope or good enough to improve after you all test, then we end up with a new product in our main category, so we win..

ad you already explained how you all win..

lol it doesnt concern me to the point that i lose sleep :)

im just curious why your guys are doing this...no one else is. everyone knows its a bit of a crap shoot and doa's and cracked this and leaky that. its part of the game. now we get the same items for 50% less. yes its a win-win....a win for me and a win for bonniec and whoever else.

actually, its a win-win-win-win-win...well you get the point.

Also a perk of this for GV is lowered stress levels for bad and danno...we wont be on here flaming GV for dropping a V1 that needed a bit of tweaking..we're like bring it on..lets get that newest product that hasn't been tested much...we'll test the hell out of it..lol
so this keeps GV able to be on the cutting edge of vaping and bringing us the newest designs without all the damage control of someone having an issue and instead of reading threads and asking questions just ranting and bashing..less tickets to answer...less time spent defending GV for wanting to be innovative and bring new products to us...and this all adds up to less stress for bad and danno. always a great thing :)

oh trust me, the alpha lable isnt scaring me from pinning them guys up on a wall if the product doesnt work 100% to my liking.

jk

yeah i understand there is much stress/headbanging going on when you deal with ppl like us.
many things happen behind the scenes that we dont know of, and luckily we dont. but to be fair, i think most (if not all) vendors deal with it. of course the ones with the newest products will get the brunt if it, initially....and gv falls into that category. i cant decide if its a good or a bad thing.

me1969 if you are a good customer of GotVapes that can trump everythign else...not sure what other qualifications you don't think you stack up with? (don't worry about your post count).

A good customer of GotVapes deserves loyalty on our part for a program like this. Our Supplier Assocites don't have access to our customer spending records so just mention this when you do submit to keelalagirl55 or adrena and they can refer you over to Chris or I for a final approval or decision. If you have entrusted us with your vaping dollar on a consistent basis you have shown us alot and it is appreciated not just because it helps our business but because you have shown you trusted us. We'd only want anyone in the program to be aware of the bylaws outlined : ) - so go ahead and apply...

with that said, if our SA checks you out, and they do a THOROUGH job and we love them for that, and they see a pattern, a snarkiness, just a general attitude that they think will cause trouble, they have an obligation to turn the application down, they actually MANAGE this program for us, some applications can be appealed to Chris or I and we will sometimes, because we have seen you are a good customer of GotVapes (see above), turn you on for ALPHA. But this isn't because our SA's made a bad decision, they do a wonderful job.

Just a FYI..we do have people who LOVE the Scorpion...I just had a reorder today from an Alpha member for 30 of them, they like them so much...

The spirit of Alpha really is non-profit...our only mark-up, if we have any, might be to cover for credit card costs, shipping costs from China, etc. When we mean low costs we MEAN it. We may even anger a few other vendors that have our ALPHA product in ther main sales area and we don't mean to purposely do that. Its just that with that product, we aren't completely comfortable that it has been tested as well as we would want for a product we release mainstream. So we put it out there, with marginal cost, and let you guys play with it first...

Don't know how anyone could see alpha as anything but a cool thing to do. It helps GV decide on products to put on the site, and gives the participants the ability to try many new products at low cost. Sure it helps GV. And why not help out. The forum here is the best supplier forum IMO. This helps them provide the best products for their customers, and allows the customers be a part of the process directly. When it comes down to it they don't have to do this at all. People that apply should only do so if they are on board with the idea. Can't wait for the next round!

Oh, I hear you. I mentioned that some people were happy. I just saw the people on this thread where we talked about the product and most folks had the same troubles with it. I'm still quite happy I got it! The tips are definitely nice to have since I'm a chewer and I can use parts to tinker.

The other side of the coin seems to be the Rocket. Not everyone had a top notch experience, but it seems like the majority are quite pleased. Especially considering the incredible discount!

not sure if i was the one that was being thought about with the parallel mod. i have an altoids tin i made with four (4) 14500 in parallel feeding a ptn04050 booster chip. works really well no sag or voltage drop and puts out the exact same till the batts run out. have a charge plug that charges all the batts together (i dont take them out but could if i want) so i dont have to worry about keeping track of pairs or sets or anything like that. and another benifit of this is also that it can run on 1 or 2 or 3 or all 4 batteries whatever you like, as long as they all have the same charge when put in...

I'd like to see that! If you put it up in the modder's forum. PM me a link.
