The double tank looks really interesting. Wish it wasn't a bottom coil, but, oh, well. Hey, Chris - how does it work, exactly? Are the two tanks separated, or is it just two parallel coils?

I think I'd love to try that one - just because it's different. :D (Curiosity strikes again. I really should get myself a cat avatar and emoticons - my character, thanks to GV, is quickly evolving towards the nine lives scenario. Fortunately, vaping stuff is not particularly dangerous.)

That DBT looks really intriguing! Perhaps the next step in carto evolution? The only thing I really don't like about it is the tip. I just can't stand flat tips! Feels like I have a whistle in my mouth.

I would want the dongle, but these things have one big flaw to me and that is the connecting wire. I have the Cyclone dongle, which is now retired because the wire came loose and was damaged where it connects to the battery. I would like to see a dongle with a USB connection actually on the bottom of the dongle so that we don't have to worry about things like that and if something does happen, it's easily fixed for a very low price since USB wires with a small end and a regular end are pretty easy to come by these days.

Thoughts?

O....M....G!!!!!!!!!!
If you've got a tube of silicon sealer or a high-temp hot glue gun, run a bead around the 510 connector and the top edges of the rocket & you should be good to go. It'll squish out a little when you reassemble (you have to be quick with the high-temp hot glue) and then you can scrape away the excess when it cures.

HTH!
Thanks Count.. I think you posted a video of the procedure and I watched it.. seems like something I can probably do without too much trouble (I think!)

On the dongle topic.....I also find the usb wire to be a problem. I made a solution by cutting a carto tube lengthwise like a hotdog roll and then I electrical tape it to the ends. It eliminates the stress on that part of the connection and alleviates the problem. It would be nice however to have a usb cord connector that turned ( I am not saying this right) not the connector but were it connects to the connector so that it would not stress and eliminate tangles. LOL I hope someone understnds what I am trying to say LOL

OK Chris any time now...my dwolla funds came in LOL Lettem drop :)

I think I know what you are meaning...like a swivel where it goes into the dongle?

Yeah thats the word SWIVEL thanks Keela

yea...I've thought that for a long time as most pt's have that issue. And what was discussed earlier about the usb plug in....the ego did that with their pt's.....I don't see why it wouldn't work on a pt that is not meant to be portable like the ego pt is.....just to supply the power. Sounds like a no brainer to me...but then again, I'm no expert in the matters of building electronic stuffs ;)

We may even anger a few other vendors that have our ALPHA product in ther main sales area and we don't mean to purposely do that. Its just that with that product, we aren't completely comfortable that it has been tested as well as we would want for a product we release mainstream. So we put it out there, with marginal cost, and let you guys play with it first...

You know, it's really hard to find a vendor with that kind of consideration for their customers...it looks like I have found my 'GO TO' vendor. I just placed my first order yesterday, but it certainly won't be my last. As soon as I have a couple more orders I'll re-apply to be included in the Alpha. With a low post count and no previous orders when I applied it is easy to understand why I got the rejection. I'm into vaping for the long haul...I'm even going to add a courtesy link to GV on my website! You guys ROCK!

That's true, adding a micro USB port to the dongle itself would just make it a mini pass through portable ego battery. And then there wouldn't be a point in getting the dongle aside from the smaller size. I mean, it's a vv, but the twist is, too. I don't know if it's a pass through, though.

There's a problem with having a USB port, though. Juice could get into it and cause damage which isn't as likely with the dongle's wire. I'm sure there's a happy medium out there somewhere.

I never thought of putting a carto tube over it!

Received my VariVolt Rocket today...initial impressions...

1. Lightweight: This mod is almost unbelievably light, a 5ml tank weights more than the mod does without batteries. with batteries it is very well balanced but still very light.

2. Voltage adjustments: I like the fact I can adjust the voltage without having to fire the device. Very easy to adjust up and down.

3. Activation button: Nice clicky feel, pretty flush to the device. I would worriy more about the voltage adjustment buttons than the fir button in my pocket.Has a very definite click on and off.

4. Size: excellent size, comfortable in the hand with the fir button falling naturally under the thumb.

5. Display: The display is bright and easy to read.

6. Looks: I got the red version, nice color with a metallic look to it. The two molded halves of the body do gap slightly but not enough to cause a problem...just visually obvious. I would like to see a bit better fit between the two halves of the body of the device.

This kit came with batteries and charger as well as two cartomizers. I am not a fan of the batting filled cartomizer of that type. I tied one of the Alpha Scorpian tanks and it and was very impressive. Great vapor production and flavor.

Absintheur: I have been wondering if the body was plastic or metal...I'm guess from your mention of...

...it is plastic. Am I correct? Thanks...it wouldn't be a problem if it is Plastic, more of a curiosity thing. :)

I was gonna pull the trigger on the Rocket, but then Chris let slip about the 'Gripper 2'. Now I'm holdin' my cash to see what the deal is with it. Doesn't mean I won't get both, but for now I'm in a holding pattern. One of those 2 will make a nice x-mas present for my daughter, who I converted to vaping... after I check it out thoroughly. :D
