Hey guys

My current setup is an itaste mvp with a kanger evod/protank, and I noticed that after about 5-6 drags on these two clearomizers, I start getting dry hits. I assume that this is an issue of wicking (not enough juice being soaked up into the bottom coils). I was wondering if switching to 100% PG would alleviate this problem? Thanks in advanced.

Well yes is the short answer as 100% PG is almost like water so it will wick better. But it will change the flavor of your juice and some people can be sensitive to pure PG juices. What ratio are you currently using?

However, there are a couple of things you can do before you change the ratio of your juice. You can try adding a couple of drops of distilled water to your juice to thin it out a little. By doing this and seeing if the situation improves, it will tell you that the juice you are using is the issue.

You could also try to remove a flavor wick from the coil heads. This is a really simple process and completely reversible, so if you find you are getting other issues after removing the flavor wick, you can always put it back.

The flavor wicks are bits of silica that sit on top of your coil. To get to them, you'll need to remove the coil head from your clearo and pop off the little metal 'chimney' on top of it. You can do this with a pair of needle nose if it's difficult with your fingers. Inside the coil head, you should see two or sometimes three extra bits of silica. Remove one, reassemble and try it again.

If you encounter gurgling or flooding, you might need to put it back in. By doing this simple modification, you can even vape 100% VG in an EVOD with minimal wicking issues.

There is a decent video below. Actual demo starts at about 1:40 in - he waffles a bit, but it's a good video.

Thanks InTheShade,

I have heard of that method before, but thought that it only worked with VG juices. I will give it a try!
