I mainly use an intellicharger i4 but also have a trustfire 2 slot charger. I was charging 2 batterys in the trustfire because my main charger already had 3 batts in it and i noticed the batts get way hotter than they do in the i4. I was wondering what others have experienced and should i stop using the trustfire? I put the batts in the i4 as soon as the others were charger and they seen to have cooled down.
Thanks in advance for the advise.

Sorry for the hijack. I'm not sure if using the charger that makes the battery warm is a good idea. I would wait until someone more knowledgeable reads this and can answer.

I would only use Nitecore and Xtar chargers because they have a proven safety record and efficiency

The saying here is don't trust anything with fire in it's name. :)
I typically subscribe to that belief, but I'm still using the 2 bay Trustfire charger that came in my Altsmoke BB kit back in 2010? or so. It was what they sold/recommended back then and I've yet to have a problem one with it.
Just sayin, carry on.
Next question, that I haven't seen asked, what were the batteries you were charging? This charger might just have a regulated output, vs the soft output of the "better" charger.

I used Trustfire chargers years ago when no better chargers were on the market. I didn't have any problems with them either but I don't know what the quality is like today. I just know most members say stay away from them. I currently use and Xtar charger and it works good. :)

Oh, I agree! I wasn't picking a fight! But back then the "good" chargers were around $100 or more, so..............

True, they were expensive. I remember the only good charger was the Pila and they were out of my budget. I also used Trustfire batteries when nothing better was available and they seemed to work well but I wouldn't use them today.

Beware of bad battery chargers and not just bad batteries

Whenever I hear about a charger catching fire on the forums, it's always a trustfirecharger. There is a difference between real life and spec...

Be extremely careful with that trustfirecharger , it's probably not an intelligent charger and can overcharge your batteries leading to a very...

I just did a quick search for Trustfire chargers here on ECF. I was convinced that I'd find at least one of the previous threads of a Trustfire charger which had caught on fire, but the search engine here isn't one of the better ones. Above links were from the first page of search results.

Bottom line, Trustfire chargers are generally considered a bottom tier, lower quality charger by most folks. IMHO, good batteries deserve a good charger. Statistically, 80% of battery incidents happen while batteries are charging.

Batteries may feel somewhat warm to the touch, but should never feel hot.
