So I have a smok M80 XPRO PLUS that I got a few days ago. Just wondering is it safe to use a phone charger to plug it into the USB port on the bottom?

My uncle, who I stay with, watched some news article about someone's battery blowing up in their apartment and just wants to make sure I am charging this thing safely. I have been using my phone charger up to this point, with no issues.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes; it charges from a standard 5 volt usb port.

I wouldnt buy a device with built In batts, but what do you mean.

I havent heard of any iSticks or MVPs blowing up.

I simply prefer to avoid Lithium based Mods. No reason for them in this stage of vaping with safer battery technology available.

As for blowing up, none that I know of. However we do have an ECF member who's MVP hit the bedroom floor and went thermal. Burned the carpet and mod pretty good before he scooped it into the nearby tub.

Most wall chargers are 1-2 amp.
Most newer USB 2.0 are 2.1 amp.
None should be over 5v

I don't know the details of your mod, but its charging rate should be set by the internal board, not what you plug it into - unless what it's plugged into has a lower current rate.

For example, if it has an 800 mA internal charger and you plug it into a 1200 mA wall wart, it will only charge at 800 mA.

However, if you plug it into a 500 mA wall wart, it will only charge at 500 mA because of the limitation of the wall wart.
