Question about charging the batteries?

thx for the kit and the fast shipping. do i need to charge the battery before i start to use them or are they pre-charged?

I tried mine when I got a kit from CigEasy and they had a small charge but were not full. I used one of them while the other charged for a couple of hours then switched them.
