question about eGo threads and clearomizers?

Which clearomizers specifically use the eGo threads? I've noticed on the CE8, the clearomizer can be hefty and wobble around a bit because the screw is small. On the other hand, I have an H2 bottom coil that uses the eGo threads.

EGO threads have become something of a public domain naming thing.

"Ego" as a brand name are made by innokin, and I think were the first to come out with that style of threading, so it's now referred to as "ego" or "ego-style".

If one style fits better than another on Ego threads, that's the design of the actual device.

The Kanger T3, T3S, MT3S all have ego threads, and are pretty good tanks.

EVODS, iClear 16, Protank mini 2 are some of the popular ones (anything "Mini-..." is ussually eGo)

Funny you should ask. I just realized my evods and protank minis are ego threaded not 510 today when I got some 510 to 510 adapters (I use them as battery shields for tank leaks) and I couldn't use them on those two types of clearomizers. It never occurred to me before since the larger protank is 510 threaded. Now I ordered a 510/ego adapter to see if that will work.

Actually, the ego concept came from a man from Texas who sold the idea to Joyetech in 2009.

The reason I'm asking is an engineering issue. I'm already noticing after vaping for a few weeks that there are threading issues with a large, heavy clearomizer or tank and the smaller 510 threads. I first noticed this after getting a Mistic e-cig, which is KR808D-2 threaded: the threads are beefier and I've had slightly fewer issues unscrewing the cartomizer. With the larger clearomizers using 510 threads, I'm starting to notice a little wear and loose fitting on my eGo batteries (I'm thinking of using a little thread treatment, like Loctite). IMO, this is really only an issue with anything heavier than the CE4/Stardust clearomizer.

The H2 I have is eGo threaded but its horrible for gurgling/spitting juice. But it does have a nice tight, supported fit on the eGo battery.

I think it is an error to use 510 on the biggest tanks*. It seems weaker and more prone to thread problems than eGo fitting.

I have a HUGE 5ml rebuildable atomizer upstairs... it's a Taifun GT. It has 510. It would be far more stable using a wider thread.

*The trouble is, all the best stuff had historically been 510 threading. Every classic mod I've seen is 510.

If vaping survives long enough, maybe there will be a move to something newer and less problematic?
