Hi Guys,

I have a simple question. Do E-cigarettes continue creating vapour even after the cart is empty?

My carts certainly taste like they are empty, but i need to know they are completely empty before i refill.

I recently purchased the njoy Duo Starter pack. Carts have built in atomizers. I found a video on youtube about how to refill the cartridges. But there is no way to see inside the carts and how much juice is left.

If i vape and i cant taste flavouring, is it safe to say its empty? or will it stop creating vapour when its fully gone?

Thanks from a newbie, UK.

Absolutely - do not let a cartomizer run competely dry. Once you start a new carto, it's best to keep it wet until you finally discard it. If it gets low on juice, you'll begin to notice a burnt taste when you vape it. When that happens, stop immediately and refill it. Not only is that burnt taste disgusting, but you'll ruin your carto as well if you continue vaping it dry...

Thanks for the tips guys.

Not sure if you realize, but i am using carts with fixed in atomizers that are not designed to be refilled. I have ordered my e-juice, but i have a load of used carts from several days ago, that i am hoping to refill.. I hope they will be ok after this time?

Thanks to MyPuterGeek for his refill mod video: YouTube - NJoy NPro duo Cartridge Refill Mod :)

Ok, you're using cart's on an atomizer. When you said "Carts have built in atomizers" I thought you were referring to cartomizers since that's what they are. Anyway, if you're using cart's you can still refill them even if they say not to. If you vape them dry you'll still get the burned flavor. There's really no way to get all of the juice out of them so vape it until the flavor changes then either refill or put a fresh cartridge on. Do you have bottles of juice yet? If not you should buy some.

My 1st kit was the Njoy Npro which I think is the one that came before the one you're using (I hope- the Npro was total junk)
But the setup sounds the same.
Did the kit come with 2 batteries and one atomizer+5 or 6 cartridges?
If so, then you can probably see the filler batting down inside. It looks nearly identical to a cigarette filter.
I tried refilling mine a couple times just by dripping into the filler which worked fine.
In fact, it's the easiest refill cart I've ever seen to date.
The only problem was the design of the entire e-cig was so lousy it wouldn't produce vapor at all.
Hopefully your version is much better.

I know the one your talking about. The one from 711, its what i was using till i just got my riva 901. If you are careful you can separate the atty from the cart. Just SLOWLY and CAREFULLY wiggle the gold part that screws into the battery back and forth applying some small force until it pops off. Than you can check to see if you are out or wash the cloth that is in there if your switching to a new flavor. I was doing that for a while until i just figured it would be easier to label them and keep the same flavor. You do want to clean them out every now and again though. The method that i came up with is a bit weird but take like no time at all. First grab a small dixie cup, like the tiny ones used in peoples bathrooms. Fill it up with some warm water. Now for the weird part, use the carto like a straw and suck the water through it, keep spitting it out DO NOT DRINK IT!! After a few "sips" you will no longer taste the weird taste of the juice in it. I than took a air compressor that i have in my garage to it, sure you can use a can of compressed are for the same effect, and blow it out from the mouthpiece side until you no longer see water mist coming out. Spray it a little bit more just for good measure. Now go refill the carto condom style or any other way that you like.

Wow thanks for all the tips. Especially sowazit2you. Although I read someone else's comments about this on youtube and they said every time they tried to separate the atty that they broke the cart?

To end the confusion. The atomizers are glued in to the cartridges, and are therefore not designed to be refilled. So I guess you will call them cartomizers.

I received my juice today, Totally wicked titan juice (multipack). I have refilled 2 carts now, first one I overfilled and juice was coming out of the inhaling end of the cart (not good). 2nd one I did a little less and it did not overflow, but when i inhaled i sucked in a little juice to my mouth. So i guess its a learning curve of getting the right amount. But this is also exactly why its important to know the cart is totally empty, otherwise how can i know how many drops of juice it needs?

On another note, i've noticed i'm not getting much throat hit at all on this stuff? Anyone know if the red label gives a better throat hit?

PS Thanks MisstressNomad for the videos, I will check them out!

I don't think there is a cartomizer on the market that can't be refilled. Most of them you just have to remove the top cap. I have what is called a "pick" tool
111 2004.jpgthat is great for getting a sharp point into small places. It came with a $7 soldering gun from Radio Shack and works perfectly for removing the caps and the rubber grommet inside (for the ECS cartos).

Some are more easily refilled by using the translucent rubber cap that comes on both ends. Just add fluid to it then slowly press the bottom of the cart down into it until it takes all the fluid or it comes out the top (in which case just blow from the top down to expell the excess).

Also, Whenever you re-fill a cart you to max capacity the first 5-10 hits will be taste only with little or no vapor. That's because the heating element is probably wet and has to dry out before "wicking" the fluid into a vapor.
Perfectly normal. However; getting past this is where I get heartburn and hiccups alot.
Once it starts producing vapor you'll be back to normal again.

Larry45, I'm also new (obviously, huh?) anyway - my question is this: I have ordered a kit and am currently chainsmoking while awaiting it's arrival (USPS website says today). The kit of course, only contained prefilled cartomizers. If I empty one, order ejuice, and save it until the ejuice arrives, will it still be okay to refill, or will it have been too long? Advice from any of you veterans is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
