Question about Fireball e-liquid

I have some Fireball eliquid, made locally by a vape shop in Providence RI. It is delicious and tastes just like a Fireball candy. I use it exclusively in my Tugboat v2 RDA and is a great ADV.

My question is this:

The first bottle i bought a few months ago was 6mg and it was sort of a "milky white" color, it definitely didn't do well in my Atlantis tank, but it was perfect in my dripper and the flavor was amazing.

well i recently purchased a new bottle of the same liquid from the same manufacturer, in the same nicotine level, and the e liquid is now a "clearish yellow" color, but the flavor is not quite as good as it was before when it was a milky white color.

I asked the local vape shop that makes it if they changed the ingredients and they say they haven't. However the color is obviously different and the flavor as well.

My theory is that they were probably using the TFA red hots flavoring in their eliquid back when it was a milky white color, and have since changed to a different flavoring. I suspect this because I was reading the reviews on the "Cinnamon Redhots" flavor from ecigexpress and several people have stated that this flavoring turns their juice to a milky white color, especially in high VG juices.

So I'm thinking this local vape shop either changed to a different cinnamon redhot flavor, or increased the PG ratio in their liquid.

Does this sound like it's pretty on base? I ordered some of the cinnamon redhot flavoring from ecigexpress and am going to try adding a small percentage of it to my current fireball Eliquid to see if it changes the color and flavor.

It could have just been made and didn't have time to steep. Try leaving the cap off for a couple days to see if it changes back to the color you're used to.

I vaped nothing but Fireball flavors for an entire year and I probably tried over 25 of them. Most of them had their own distinct taste. If you want, I can make a list of the ones I liked the most.

Thanks for the advice, and that would be awesome if you have tried that many fireball flavors, i would really appreciate that.

I did try leaving the cap off for a few days when i first got it and saw the color change, but no luck achieving that milky white color.... haha Eliquids are definitely an interesting specialty in Vaping

TPA has two types of redhot flavoring. One is suspended in PG exclusively while the other has ethyl alcohol in it. The "milky color" comes from the fact that the PG flavored Red hot does not dissolve well when mixed with VG and nicotine. Whereas the ethyl alcohol red hot does dissolve in VG and nicotine. They probably ordered the wrong one the first time and have since ordered the correct one. As far as taste, well that is subjective but the dissolved version would work better in a tank then the undissolved version. Just my two cents as a DIYing chemist.

That was very informative, thank you for breaking that down, I'm thinking you are correct, they probably changed to the one with Ethyl alcohol in it for a more complete absorption, this also might explain the slight change in taste that i have noticed over the original.

Do you think adding a small amount of this to the Eliquid might help to bring back that original flavor and color?

EDIT
I misunderstood the question. If you want the milky color you could add the PG redhots to it to get that back. it should give you what you want but it might be real HOT man. that's alot of cinnamon.

Ok that's good, thank you I'll give it a try and start with a small amount of the original Eliquid, maybe 5mL and add maybe 3% PG redhot flavoring to begin with, i like it hotter the better so that's good haha

If adding the flavoring to the original Eliquid does not achieve that original flavor i was going for, is it possible to create the flavor i want from scratch? I have the PG based redhot flavoring along with plain PG and plain VG liquid already.
Would it be difficult to create the Eliquid myself? If so any advice on further ingredients i would need, or basic steps would be greatly appreciated, you seem to be very knowledgeable in this arena.

Thanks again for your help!

No problem at all. I would recommend surfing the DIY subforum for more specific DIY instructions. But tinkering is always the place to start so I think you are on the right path. My only advice is to make sure if you DIY with nicotine be very confident on your calculator for nicotine concentration. It is poisonous at inappropriate levels and needs to be handled with caution (wear gloves, wash hands, etc.)

Thanks for the advice, I've been reading the DIY E-liquid section pretty much all day since you mentioned that it's really fascinating stuff, I can definitely see why so many people are creating their own flavors.

I've been looking at some fireball recipes and i think i have an idea about what i want to try. I'm going to make it with Zero nicotine, at least at first until i get more comfortable with it. would you mind taking a look at the idea i have in mind?

I figured I'd start small with just a 10mL vial, here are my measurements

1.) 7% TFA cinnamon redhot flavoring, which will come out to 0.7mL

2.) 1.5% Ethyl Maltol which will be 0.15mL (I'm thinking of trying the cotton candy flavor e-liquid as a substitute because it is primarily EM anyway)

3.) 4.5mL of PG

4.) 4.5mL of VG

i have a very precise set of sterile insulin syringes from work that break down to very small increments. Does this sound pretty reasonable? Also, is it best to mix these ingredients over heat?

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated, thanks again!

Everything sounds good except don't use heat. Heat is not your ally in this adventure. It degrades these compounds to more harmful substances. Cool temperatures are your ally here. Everything else sounds great. carry on!

Thank you for the advice! I'll report back on how it turns out
