question about heat and drip tips

ok a little history so you know where this has come from

For a while I was vaping on an mvp2 and a miniprotank2.I wanted to try TC so I got a istick40TC and a kanger subtank nano with ni coils.So I was vaping the istick/subtank in TC and lovin it.So 2 moths ago I got an ipv3li and was using the subtank on both mods.
Ok so last week I got a CROWN tank for the 3LI and also some clapton coils for the subtank.So now for the first time I am using WATTAGE mode on both mods and the tip gets HOT...my question is this...is this normal and do I just need to get different drip tips?cause I see people vaping 50 -80watts + on the same tanks and dont seem like they are burning their lips.Is this a wattage mode thing?

oh the istick is only at like 25 watts and the 3 LI is only set at 30 watts now

Drip tips can make or break a tank or atty. For heat you want a nice big thick derlin tip and I have found the vaponaute brand are the best for heat.

ah yes.. Good old Cherry Vapes delrin tips... Love those. I have the cloud chaser, clourchaser xl, steam chugger and my new cobalt acrylic should be at my house today. I love the insulating properties of the delrin, and I love that they are friction fit. there is no Oring on them so the bore is a tad more open. the wall of the 510 dosent have to be thick to allow room for the oring to sit in.

They don't have to be delrin some SS drip tips also have heat fins for heat dissipation and others are SS on the outside and insulted on the inside with delrin or other types of plastic which do the same job. Hot Drip tip is Good indication you are over taxing the Atomizer

You are supposed to enjoy your vape, not burn your lips

TC tapers wattage to keep heat consistent.
VW sends the desired wattage constantly, which can continue increasing heat until something fails or times out.

* A Stumpy would likely always get a warm/hot tip. A Tank should Not have such issue unless being over powered for the coil/wick/air setup.

Size and Build matter.

I bought several cherry vapes cloud chaser drip tips when they debuted them at DC Vapefest.

Running the xl in one mod currently.

Have all but their latest friction fit tips.

Again thanks for all the links.as for over taxing the tank Im running a .5 SS CROWN coil rated for 30 to 80 watts at 30 watts.my kanger is at 25 watts and had no issues till i switched from TC to wattage.I am running them at the extreme low end.

Well, as nobody has asked this before: Do you have the airflow closed up or do you run the Crown wide open?

Closing off airflow usually results in hot vapor and hot driptip. I can run my modded Bellus at 50W and just built a 8.4V unregulated boxmod to run my Fishbone V1 dripper without any heated driptips.

9 out of ten of my rigs use a delrin, AKA, POM, drip tip. Most of them came from Fast tech where I paid about 1-2 bucks each for them.

You cant cook a steak without making some heat.

I don't like metal drip tips. Not because of the heat; I just don't like the feel of them. My most used drip tips are either acrylic, tru-stone, wood, or Pyrex.

I found this drip tip at one of my local B&Ms. Delrin base as a heat insulator with a metal tip. Perfect for my Stillare RDA.

Dotmod baby friction or full size drip tips are super good, I love them and stay pretty cool at 75w. Expensive but worth it.

well just got my first glass drip tip delivered today and I have been vaping for about 5 min and WOW the difference is staggering,night and day.Its literally the missing piece to get the perfect vape...good bye metal drip tip.the term gets thrown around A LOT but this really is a game changer for me
