Question about HEMP wick material

I bought some hemp wick material off ebay to try it as a wick for rebuilding attys. To my dismay the wick came coated in beeswax. Can I boil the wick to remove the beeswax or do I just have to toss it (or make candles) and chalk it up to a learning experience? Need to be absolutely sure of what you are buying, I thought it was just the wick, did not realize that some were coated in beeswax.
