Question about mechanical mods

I vape e cigs and use a vv at home. What would be the advantage of using a mechanical mod? What do they do special that's worth those prices? I see they're a big deal to people on here i just don't understand. What are they? And also the pro vari. What is the big deal about them?

Mechanical mods have no wires in them. They are simple and reliable and don't involve wonky menu systems to be able to vape. Just add a kick (by Evolv) and you can vape up to 10 watts with no hassle. And expensive LCD screens won't get damaged in the case of a fall. The best part are the huge batteries they use and don't need charging after 4 hours or so. The provari is all the reliability and bells and whistles you could ever want in a mod and come with a goot warranty.

Mech mods allow you to fire any atomizer. A big plus for RBAs

The reason why I love my mechanicals is because of my variable wattage devices lol I have found out what wattage I like so I just bought some rebuildables and wrapped them to around the wattage I like. But the reason why I like my mechanicals the most is because I am really tough on my devices. I don't have to worry about dropping my mechanicals as much because there is really not much that can break.... and if something does the fix is far more simple then sending in your device and having to wait for someone else to fix it. Not to mention all vv and vw devices cant fire any coil that is wrapped below say 1.0ohm and I like messing around in the sub ohm levels sometimes .

I vape between .6 - .9 ohms which is my biggest reason for only using and liking mechanical mods. Plus the reliability factor and most repairs if not all can be done by yourself.

I agree with all the above. I wrap my coils around .8 ohms, and my Chinese mechanical hit like a freight train. It is really pretty surprising that with a really low resistance coil a cheapo Chinese mod hits better than some of my VV/VW devices. (That cost four times as much)

Mechanical mods has pure power based on what battery you use and rba. If set right you will enjoy vaping a lot more trust me.

Provari is top of the line variable wattage device. From full battery to low bat you will get the right amount of volts you set the mod at. Built tough. USA made. Good warranty. Slick style. Winner.

First lets clear up a misconception. You don't have to play with low ohms to enjoy rebuildables. The coil I wrapped last night measures out at 3.0ohms, and it's a nice pleasurable vape. So the only real difference between it and a normal SR atty is that it only cost 0.04 cents instead of 6.00-22.00 dollars to have a brand new atty.

Now on to the PV's. The Provari is made in the US using US labor getting paid US wages. Being from Detroit, you should appreciate that.
My mechanical REO was also made in the US using US labor getting paid US wages.

There can be all sorts of things that will make a mod attractive to an individual. Some will like nice chrome/stainless steel/titanium, or gold plating. Others will like nice engravings. Some might even like a little steam punk.
I just hope my car doesn't look exactly like your car.
Some folks will like a nice VV PV, others VW, and still others a mechanical 3.7v PV.
I just hope my car is faster than your car.

Bottom line, it's just a matter of what floats your boat ...... nothing more.

thanks everybody. So If the mechanical mods are so simple why do they cost so much? And is there a way to choose voltage and that or are they just on full blast or not on at all? And what is the advantage over the other apv's? Do the others break alot? And if the mods work with any resistance atty do they not blow them for some reason? Seems like if burning out attys is a concern at lower voltages applying 10w woukld instantly destroy it. Again, I know very little about these matters.

ohms schmohms...I just like replaceable batteries. $4-5.00 vs $20. Also, if anything gets banned (I know, armageddon, sky's falling) I can always buy batteries.

There are some cheap ones out there, but basically it's supply and demand. These are small batch items being crafted and people want them... so price is high accordingly.

You "choose" your power by the resistance of the delivery device. Ohm's Law the lower the resistance at the same voltage puts out more power. Say a 3 ohm delivery device on a 3.7v device will put out 4.5 watts, a 1 ohm delivery device on the same 3.7v device will put out 13 watts. You can buy/build your coil to the specs that you like the best.

I have both a fully mechanical mod (Legacy) and a provari. To me they are completely different things and for different purposes. I like them both.
For the provari, I love that it is regulated power, lots of safety features, and can power anything over 1.6 ohms I put on it. It's fantastic for cartomizers or the vivi nova (no matter how much I try I don't like the vivi nova). As for the Legacy. it's going to sound strange but the things I like about it are that it's unregulated with no safety features (except vent holes). The mechanical is entirely serviceable by me. I primarily use it with a genesis atomizer. If the control board or button in the provari goes I can't fix that but there is nothing on the Legacy I can't fix or easily replace. To me it's not an either, or proposition. I enjoy both. I do have to say that all things considered I enjoy the mechanical more. The provari is a fantastic top-notch device and I can't say enough great things about it but, I truly enjoy mechanical as well. I like to tinker by nature and mechanical PV's and RBA's just suit me.

As to why some mechanical PV's cost so much. A lot of it has to do with the materials being used to make them. Another factor is how many are being made. Obviously if it's a great device and not many are being made then the price goes up.
