Can i steep my flavours as concentrates or do i need to add dilutant before steeping?

Steeping begins after you mix you flavors with PG and or VG and add your nicotine.

I keep my flavors in a dark cabinet until I use them. But, after I use them with PG/VG/Nic, I steep them in a dark place for a week. Anything thick or dark for two weeks. Then I test.
I may do it a little longer, but I want to know that it IS steeped. I am kinda new, so I haven't determined every flavor that needs a longer steep.
Input would be appreciated on that.

Steeping is the equivalent of aging whiskey or wine. It's a process of letting the flavor of the finished product mature. All ingredients are mixed prior to aging.
Vanilla's and tobacco's takes a while. Others I'm sure.

Okay so i'll add dilutant to it prior to steeping, but does it really need the nicotine during steeping?
Hey @Frenchfry1942 , I general I have found that creams and custards take a little longer to steep than say fruits. Fruits are mostly a shake and vape kinda thing.
You need to add all ingredients (IMHO) together so they all can steep.
I always mix the same size bottle with the same recipe every time, so I have a 30ml bottle that I put my flavorings in so I can use it as a "concentrated recipe" when it comes time to mix a new bottle.
I am probably not average since I mix liquid that is "shake and vape" but I believe mixing the flavors ahead of time and letting them meld by themselves before adding to the base does take some time off of the overall steep time that would normally be needed.
Probably all in my head, but it works for me!
If I understand correctly, steeping is giving the aroma molecules time to bond with each other. Aromas themselves are PG based. So I would think its logical that only mixing the concentrates before adding the bulk of PG/VG would make a difference in overall steeping time. If the aromas are blended well, then adding the base and shaking well would have to result in instavapeable juice?
In any case it would be a timesaver and less of a mess if you premix a larger amount of a recipe, aromas only.

Seems logical, in my head anyways. I basically just fill my 125 ml bottle with premixed base, smash the bottle of premixed flavor in, give it a hot water bath to thin the VG (90% of the base), shake once after about 15 minutes, return to the water and let it cool.
I don't assume the hot water bath aids in steeping so I'm not claiming it takes the place of time for some mixes, but thinning the base seems to allow the premixed flavors to blend faster in my own.
Of course, YMMV
All components (NIC,PG,VG,flavoring) of a mix are required when steeping as they all interact and bond at a molecular level with each other which results in the taste of the final mix. So the answer is "Yes" all components are nessessary.
