I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I've googled all over and can't find the answer -- I've heard raving reviews about Vivi Novas but when I went to buy one, I find all these different types, V2, V2.5, V5, V8, V9, V10, etc... but I can't for the life of me tell what's the difference. It looks like they all can come in various resistances and tank sizes, and they all look mostly the same. Is any one better than the others?

2.5 is the latest version and make absolutely sure it's the Vision brand. Mini Vivi Nova (1.6 ml) for eGo PVs and the 3.5 ml for larger Mods. You may want to get a beauty ring to hide the threads between the Nova and battery.
V5, V8, V9, V10, etc
Some Vendors and/ or manufacturers will rename/ renumber them so it's more difficult to find a competing price.

There are A LOT of knockoffs out there, and that's why they're all different. The only place I know for sure has genuine ones is gotvapes and theyve been sold out for a while it seems. As far as the Ohms is concerned, they usually come with 3 different coil replacement systems and they all vary on that, and when you buy the replacement coils you get to choose which Ohm resistance works best for your setup.

I'm sure somebody will come along soon with a link for the genuine one thats in stock ;)

So how does the Vivi hold up to thicker liquids? I finally found "my flavor" which I got in 50/50 at Highbrow Vapor, and I first tried it in a trashy disposable which gunked up after a couple days and tastes like burnt sugar. I can see the caramelizing at the top of the wick. I stopped by a local shop and picked up a carto-tank that was one of the few things they sold that didn't even have a brand name attached to it, but it had slots in the bottom of the carto that turned out to be too big - apparently as the juice warms up it thins out quite a bit - and I got a lot of flooding, gurgling, and spitting - I've had a bunch of spray in my mouth and had to clean out the battery connector repeatedly.
I finally tried Samurai Seven's trick from this post http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/448791-anyone-try-laser-slotted-boges-2.html (Post #14) cutting the end off a drip tip condom and sliding it over the carto to cover part of the slots, and it's vaping very well now, but it seems like such a hassle always trying to find the right carto hole size. The wick-style clearomizer was so convenient for all my 80/20 juices, I just need something that can handle a slightly thicker juice.

You can burn the "gunk" off by dry burning it. Easy with top coils.
Just rinse the wicks/coil, blot wicks semi-dry with a paper towel then fire it until the smoke stops. cool, rinse again.

Don't know about the thicker juices with the nova. I use 70/30 clear juice and it works great. Have to burn it off weekly and coils/wicks last months.

The main difference in the various versions is the 'tank' part.

Some have windows or cut-outs. Others are solid metal or clear plastic.

My understanding is that the same replacement heads work in all of them, and that the tank parts are also interchangeable.

Note the Mini and Regular versions can't exchange tanks...but the head part is the same.

I've gotten several from GotVapes and one from MVS.
Same stuff so I assume they both have the 'real thing'.

Very nice vape out of the box for the money in my opinion...and even better if you fashion your own wicks and coils.
