I was wondering if it is bad to charge your Volt batteries if they are not completely dead.

I have 4, 78mm batteries. I use 3 in rotation and I gave my girlfriend one (I totally converted her from analogs )

So everyday I take 2 batteries to work and it is more than enough to get my through the day. But when I get home I usually charge them up. Should I let them drain out? Ive only had a battery completely die on me a handful of times. I was wondering if it will affect the battery life or affect the battery in any negative way?

From previous posts about this, I understand that it will not affect battery life. I almost never completely discharge mine and I have some batteries over a year old.

The only "loss" of battery life I can see is the fact that since they have a limited amount of charging cycles, if you charge it before its dead, technichaly you could get less life time out of them as those cycles are used up quicker. But thatrs not a huge thing since only charging them once a day they'd still last almost a year which I think is pretty damn good personally

You don't have those worries with lithium-type batteries. That was only with the old-school rechargeable nickel-based ones (having to wait til they're completely discharged). Some people think it's preferable to just keep topping up, because it doesn't count as one of the 300 full discharge cycles. Don't know how true this is, but I've charged my batteries at least that many times (sometimes 2-3 times in a day), and they're all still kicking! :)
