Alrighty,

So before I start this off I would like to throw it out there that I am asking this for a friend of mine, and because I don't know the answer I am hoping someone on here can provide some insight.

My buddy is using a cloudpor T-8 150 Regulated box mod, with a Dark Horse clone.

He is trying to build a 20 gauge kanthal 8 wrap dual coil, but every time he does his mod says "short" on the screen. Apparently it works fine with a single coil, but dual coil is the issue.

Can anyone recommend a build that he could try with 20 gauge kanthal that would work?

Just looking for POSITIVE advice, and recommendations here.

Thanks.

I would recommend your friend join ECF so he/she can learn.

If you take 1 coil @ 0.5Ω. Add it it another identical coil @ 0.5Ω. Install them both (assuming in parallel). The total resistance will be 1/2 the resistance of a single coil = 0.25Ω

Edit: There is no good reason to build low sub-ohm coils when you have a high vv/vw mod (in fact it works against you). I would suggest your friend read this thread.

My thoughts about sub-ohm and latest VV/VW devices...

Well if they are using a 2.5mm id then 20g 8 wraps dual coil is around 1.5Ω.
Both coils need to be the same resistance and everything secure.

Recommend well not really at 20g , for me its too thick needs too many wraps other than very low Ω's and would take to long to heat up and need more watts.

I think you mean .15Ω. ;)
