I just received my vivi nova fro gotvapes (which i am pretty upset about).. because not only did it arrive with no retail packaging, but it also didnt come with the extra 2 coil heads that i thought it was supposed to. the vivi nova is advertised EVERYWHERE with a black box it comes in, and the extra 2 coil heads in there. i ordered the vivi nova mini, and it arrived in an envelope, enclosed in a plastic wrap, with no retail box, and no extra coils. nowhere on the site did they mention the mini doesnt come with what it is supposed to. other vendors sell the mini exactly like the regular one is sold, with the box and coil heads.

ANYWAYS.... heres my question. the vivi i received came with a 2.4ohm coil head. i've never used anything less then 3.0, so I was wondering what is a safe voltage range to run this 2.4 coil at? what would be its limit? i dont want to risk damaging the coil or the vtube itself.

I just received my Mini Vivi Nova from Got Vapes as well and if you look at their site, they specify that the larger Vivi Nova comes in a presentation box with extra heads but the Mini description does not list the box or extra heads. everywhere I've seen the Mini come in the box w/ additional heads it's $5-8 more expensive than Got Vapes. Sorry you were disappointed, but I don't think they meant to deceive you.

The Mini doesn't come with extra heads, however this is a good point to tell you that the one head you received you can rewick and recoil (Vision Vivi Nova, Part 2 - Changing Wick (COTTON) & Final Impressions - YouTube).

About your question, you can safely run it up to 4.5V, BUT, the atomizer in the Vivi is so close to the tip that you can run it at 4V as xanderxman says. My cousin (a complete n00b) broke his first Vivi head after 3 weeks but that was expected. The ability to easily rebuild the atty makes this a pretty inexpensive product and you can make any ohm-age you want as long as you have a volt-metter around as i can't recall if the Lavatube has short-circuit protection or ohm meter.

True, but they also do not mention that it doesn't come with the box or extra coil heads. Which I believe they should. Everywhere else sells this with the box and the extra heads. Figured that of course this one would also come with what it's supposed to since I didn't see it mentioned anywhere that it would be missing this. Had I known this, I would have spent the extra money to receive the extra heads. I really wanted to try the different heads since I have only tried a3.0 ohm carto so far.

Gotvapes clearly states what you will receive on the Mini Vivi Nova page.
Quote:
Overview - What you get with the Mini ViVi Nova™

•2.5ml NEW NON Leaching clear tank (clear replacement tubes are also available elsewhere in this category)
•2.4ohm NEW Updated V2.5 Coil Head w/ long wicks.
•Black drip tip (you can use most other 510 drip tips with this)

I saw the labor day sale and the mini was cheaper than the full size one. I assumed it was because it didn't come with the extra heads.

Your LT will either shut off or reduce the voltage so I don't think you have to worry about it. however, I think most people will get a burnt taste before it hits that level anyway. I think it's always good advice to start at the lowest level and then work your way up.

I had that same issue happen on a 2.4 Vivi Nova Head testing at 2.9OHM.
Also Got Vapes just sent me a Vivi Nova (not mini) with no hole at the bottom for draw. (My last order from them)

Got Vapes has a 24 hour warranty on Cartomizers and enforce it. So if you aren't using or testing your clearo the same day
than you have no warranty.

You might want to check the posts in the bad vendors forum about Got Vapes, they aren't a service oriented company.

Smoktek sells a carto tester for around $20.00 if you don't have this feature on your PV.

^ what he said. You buy from the bargain company, you get the "bargain" and not the glitzy box. They never said you would get the box and heads for that price, you assumed incorrectly and their description described what you got. This company has its uses though, and if you just want something quick and cheap can fill that niche nicely. They are really, really good at flooding the bulletin board, at times I see they have almost every other post in the "new post" section so marketing is excellent.

Good luck with their "customer service".

Personally, I'd rather not have the extra heads included. The regular Vivi Nova comes with a 2.4 on it and an extra 1.8 and 2.8, of which I mostly use only the 1.8. For me, the 2.8 is a waste.

And I'm the other way around. I have a bunch of 1.8 heads laying around that I will never use.

A top coil like a Vivi Nova runs hotter than a bottom coil like a Boge carto. So if you liked say 7 watts with a carto, you will probably only want about 6 watts with a nova.
Now understand that everone is a little different with what they want. You can make a Nova hit like a Mac truck if that is what you want. You can also make flavors come alive by turning the voltage down if that is what you want. There really isn't a right or wrong, what I like about the Nova is it's versitility. Just be willing to try different things to get it to vape the way you want, even if it means thinking outside the box.

    Hint:
Turn your Vtube all the way down (3v), and start from there. Up the voltage 0.1v at a time until you find the vape you like. Don't be surprised if it's at a lot lower voltage than you think it should be.
