I do love my 808 cartos on the 5v PT...don't have a PT for the 510, yet (woes to my credit card, again). Not even sure if a 510 PT is 5v?????? Off to search that now...

Only mod I have is the BB (at 3.7) but keep going back and forth on upping the v's or not, hmmmmm... I really do burn through some juice fast on the PT,though; I can only imagine what 6v would do to my juice budget :)

The guy from vaponine called me yesterday and I was able to ask him about using the 808 turbo cartos at 6V. He said to push the button in like 2 second intervals through the draw so as not to over tax the coil. This leads me to believe that 6V MAY just be a little tough on cartos.
Madvapes has a 5V passthrough for the 510. Heard good things about it.

I am thinking that if I would have to think that hard to use 6v (button pushing every 2 seconds throughout the draw) that I'll stick with the PT and the BB. :)

I hate to admit it - but I will - sometimes I get get confused with my PV button and the mouse when I am sitting here chain vaping and perusing ECF. "What's wrong with the computer, now?? What's wrong with my BB/PT?? Awwww, what's wrong with ME???!!!"

You don't really have to answer that.

Pokey, I tried that button-bumping technique with my 510 carto at 6V yesterday. Yeah, the damn thing lasted about 10 min. and died.
The mail should be here in an hour or so. Maybe the kr8s and adapter will be in there.

Well, I got my adapter and vapornine turbo kr808D-1 cartomizers today!!!!
Let me tell YOU! There really ...... not too fantastic. The first one was DOA so I got out the second one and it took about 5 minutes to slowly squeeze in the 1 ml it says they hold. Screwed that baby on and Wham! mediocre vapor with no throat hit and less flavor.
Oh well back to the drawing board.

Hey Mist!

I am very sorry to hear that both the button-bumping and the Turbo Kr8 cartos were a bust...bummer!

I haven't tried the turbos from VaporNine but have been using the V4L premiums for quite a while. Send me your addy in a PM and I'll send a couple your way if you'd like to try them out (since you've got the adapter now! :)). I'd be curious to hear your 510/Turbo/Premium comparison if you have the time and inclination.

Give the turbo another chance after it has settled overnight and see if there is a difference. A lot of people (myself included) find that a brand new V4L carto has better performance than a "fresh-fill" after you let it rest, first. It may be the same for the turbos.

A Taryn Spin or Thermometer shake may allow you to squeeze in a little more juice after it settles -- just remember to check the airway, juice mouth sucks!

Pokey

EDIT: Arggghhh, I HATE DOAs. I had one in my first box of 510 cartos from MadVapes. I can truthfully report that I have never had one from my Kr8 cartos from V4L. Having said that, I'm sure that I've painted the devil on the wall and will probably (unintentionally of course) send you the first if you take me up on my offer!!!!

Poke, I think DOAs just kinda go with the territory. If it's not an expensive part like a high end switch or battery I don't worry about it. Unless it happens alot. As for your generous offer, I'll PM you as soon as I finish typing this. Thanks, I'll try anything once. ;)
I did the spin in the bag thing, spin on a paper clip thing and "shook it like a poloroid picture" but it was still pretty slow process. That would have been OK if the vape was good but it was really no great shakes. I don't know, maybe I'm completely spoiled by HV vaping all day. I do think the better vape from a carto so far is with those regular 510 cartos I got. I'd like to try V4L though and I'll give the vapornine another whirl.
Hang on a second........ Nahhhhh, not really. OK vapor but absolutely no throat or flavor. These will be sittin' here 'till the day that everything else is dead.

I use both the standard KR808 cartos and the 510's, and like them both for different reasons. To me the 808 has a smoother draw (more like a real cigarette). I find it performs best if you hit the button a second or two before you draw to allow it to "warm up". The 510 carto holds more juice and, at least to me, provides a warmer taste with an easier more airy draw. If I could only have one I'd probably go with the 510, but I like both.

After a lot of experimenting I've settled on the condom fill as the best method for refilling. Spinning is far superior to any method of shaking I've tried if you want to get the maximum amount of juice in there. I use an e-cig lanyard I bought from Heaven-gifts and it works like a champ. A good spin while refilling usually allows me to get another half-condom of juice in the carto when topping off. I refill in batches to make the whole thing more productive. :)

Yeah Banjo, I love the concept of the carto but I'm having trouble adjusting to the reduction in flavor. I started with the 901 which is strong on flavor and then started vaping at 6V with the high resistance 901 attys and now everything else seems bland so far. I want something for driving that I won't have to re-fill constantly and tastes good. I'm gonna try a couple more cartos and if I'm still not happy I guess I'll have to build one of those 5V juice feeder mods that someone gave me plans for.

I'm in the same boat as you. The flavor when using a carto is greatly reduced for some reason. My fiance on the other hand loves them.

OK, correction time. I gotta be fair about these opinions of mine. I'm kind of an idiot sometimes and form oppinions too fast (maybe)
I've been disappointed in both cartos (510 and kr8) but it may be because I've been using my 6V batteries exclusively for over a month and can't use 6V with the cartos, too much juice. Well, my 18650s have been sitting in a tackle box all that time and I threw them in to test these cartos without even checking the voltage on them. Duh.... So yeah, they're low. Got them charging now. When they're powered up I hope to get a little better result.
