So, I'm aware that over time, as a carto gets closer to the end of its life, you may find that there is a change in the resistance of it. However, I've been using the SmokTech SC 3.0 ohm cartos in my U-DCTs on my VAMOs for a few weeks now. The cartos themselves seem to last a while. For the most part, I've been getting over a week out of them before a noticeable degradation in taste.

But, for the second time now, I've got a carto that initially read 3.1ohm on the Vamo have its resistance rise to the 3.4-3.7ohm range after only about an hour or two of moderate use. I know it isn't an issue with how the device is reading it because I've tried it on both my VAMOs. I've also let it rest a while and check again when I put it back on, it still reads in same 3.4-3.7 range. I've changed batteries. I've tried checking some other cartos and they read the correct resistance fr that particular carto given the typical + or - 0.1ohm margin.

Now, I typically vape at around 8 or 8.5 watts and the vape doesn't seem to be overly hot, so I'm guessing that the resistance the device is reading is now roughly the actual resistance of the carto. The vape seems fine, but I'm just curious as to happen on what otherwise seem to be a device and cartos that are in working order.

I've found a lot of heads change after they get wet and fired.

Not sure of the exact physics behind it though.

Yeah, and my question may be a total novice one as I have only had the VAMOs for a few weeks and I'd never checked the resistance on my cartos before that. I haven't noticed it with the 2.0ohm cartos I've been using. They've stayed between like 1.9-2.1 ohms till the end. It's just been with the 3.0ohm cartos. Strange.
