Question on Subtank mini RBA and Toptank mini.

Hey all,

Got another question and I can't seem to find a good answer on google outside of a few fasttech question posts. So just to make sure I figured i'd ask around here.

Question:
Will the Kanger Subtank mini RBA work in the toptank mini? I purchased the subvod TC Mega kit when it was on sale, this comes with the toptank mini without the RBA. Can I purchase and use the subtank mini RBA, or do I need to locate someone selling a toptank mini rba? I only ask because everyone I've found so far is branded as a subtank RBA and the toptank aren't listed. I believe this is due to how new they are?

From what i've been able to find about the two:
"The Mini RBA Plus seems to be the same but has smaller juice holes drilled in the sidewalls, presumably to minimize the chance of flooding/leakage when top cap is opened for filling. Earlier model should work fine if wick covers the juice holes well enough."

This is from one of those fasttech posts, mainly going over how the glass and most of the rings for the subtank will not fit the toptank.

So, will it work? If it does, will the larger juice holes be able to be offset with just covering them with wicks as suggested? If not I have no issue filling it from the bottom if that is the only issue with using the subtank rba in the toptank.

Just looking to have a rba to play around with. Not serious about building my own coils (yet, i'm three weeks in and still learning;)), and at around ~$4 bucks this seemed a more straightforward approach than attempting to sort out which clones of which mods are decent for the money or buying a new RBA for full price with the chance I may not go down the coil building path.

Though I wouldn't be upset if someone could point me to the elusive Kabuki clone. Most of the ones i've found didn't review very well :(

As far as I know, Everything that has come with the Subtank Mini will work in the Toptank Mini. And Vice Versa.

As far as the Kabuki clones goes, I Don't know much about it. But this one seems to have Pretty Good reviews...

$15.12 Kabuki Styled BCC Bottom Coil Clearomizer - 3ml / 1.6ohm(3.3-4.2V) / 316 stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Really? I was under the impression that the tank on the subtank was longer than the toptank. Same with the top O ring in the subtank replacement ring box. I only ask because I recently purchased the subtank O rings.

Awesome, thanks for the link. I will check it out. I'm also in the process of attempting to become verified so I can access the classifieds, maybe pick up a used rebuildable to play around with.

Figured the Kabuki was a good choice because I can always run the Nautilus coils in it, and I have those on hand.

I think the juice holes on the RBA for the toptank may be different? Maybe because it is top fill?

This is what I believe to be the answer. I'm just curious if anyone has tried a subtank RBA in the toptank mini without major issue or having to play with it all the time to get it working just right.

    ...

Like I said, as far as I know, the RBA Section will work in either the Subtank Mini or the TopTank Mini.

The Length of the tank Doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work. Check out the Length of this Tank...

Awesome. Good to know, and thanks for the awesome link. I think I'll have to pick up some on the slow boat from fasttech.

Edit: Quick question. Do you have to play with the wicks any differently on the toptank over the subtank?

I don't think you'll have any trouble using the STM RBA in the TTM. You will have to learn to wick it properly, but this is true of all built-coil tanks. If you want advice, and you like to build coils, this is generally easier to do, and works better, in an RTA than in a prefab coil tank with a RBA deck. There are good ones available for the same or less money than a new TTM deck.

I wick then the same way that I wick my kayfuns. I use 7 turns 27awg kanthal 3.0mm diameter for a 1.2 ohm coil. I slide the outer tube over the wicks then stuff the wicks into the channel in front of the juice holes. when buying from fastech it's a good ideal to bay the extra buck for upgraded shipping. the free shipping option takes over a month but USPS shipping only takes about 2 weeks and only cost around a buck. the chinese government subsidizes shipping for their domestic companies

Damn... That is an Insanely Low price for a 4-Pack of RBA's. Good to have a Few Extras in the Vape Drawer.
definitely. need to stock up for the coming regulations.I have enough extra tanks.rba decks and nicotine to qualify as a vaping survivalist

Think maybe you got the next taller one? They have 3 sizes i think.

Nope. Got that one. In fact, I have a Bunch of them.

The reason it holds so much is because the Tank can be Filled Completely. Whereas a regular Subtank Mini can only be filled up to the level of the Center Tube.

So after you fill a Subtank Mini and flip it over, there is a Large Air Bubble at the Top of the Tank.
