I received my order today, in record time I must say. However, when I opened one of the Dual Coil XL Clearomizer packages I ordered and got ready to fill one clearo, I looked in there and they are not Clearomizers, they are regular semi-transparent Cartomizers with PolyFill, not the smokey black Clearomizers with Wick-type feed that I expected. I double checked the website and nowhere does it state that these are Cartos with polyfill. Did I receive the wrong product? I ordered 4 packs and looks like I now have 4 packs of Cartos I really did not want, I wanted Clearos. Flavor is better and it's easy to monitor fill levels, which is nearly impossible with Cartos even if they are semi-transparent....

Yeah, there has been some disagreement over this. A "clearomizer" was originally defined as any cartomizer with a clear casing. The name itself came from "clear" + "cartomizer" = "clearomizer". However, many users such as yourself now consider a clearomizer to be a completely different style of cartomizer that is designed without the use of polyfill and instead uses an empty tank reservoir and a wick. Using this definition the name refers to the functionality rather than the aesthetics.

I think it is fine to define them either way, but feel that it needs to be consistent throughout the industry to help minimize confusion. Currently the manufacturers still go by the old definition, but we have switched to the newer one. We now consider any ce2, ce3, ce4, ce4+, etc. that simply wicks liquid from a tank to the heating coil to be a clearomizer regardless of whether the casing is clear or not.

My question is will this be confusing to some if we call a ce2 with a solid black metal casing a clearomizer? It's not clear so you can't see the liquid inside, but it functions the exact same way as any other ce2 with a clear case, it's just more durable. Any input is welcomed.

I don't think a solid black casing that is not semi-transparent should be called a clearomizer. Technically, it is the same as a "clear clearomizer" but if users look for clearomizers, then they look for a clear or semi-transparent casing with wick-feed. If I cannot look inside and see my liquid, what's really the point of using it? Well, yes, there is the fact that flavor won't be lost due to the polyfil, but I think to keep it simply and not further confuse new vapors like myself, a clearomizer should only be called that if I can see through it and monitor liquid levels. That's just my opinion, others may disagree with me. My issue with the mislabeled clearos that were actually polyfil cartomizers has been resolved by Chris (Taylormade, I don't know if that is you?). He is sending me smoky-black, semitransparent, wick-feed clearos with the order I have coming in. EXCELLENT service, myfreedomsmokes! I will be back for more supplies.......:toast:

I know I was confused. Clearo to me means clear housing, wick-feed. I was surprised to see that the clearos I ordered were polyfil. This has then been corrected on your site, as I seen.... :) And you guys made sure I was happy, even telling me not to return the cartos I received but still adding the new ones on to my order free of charge. I'm impressed.... :) Oh, so ure the one that was copied on my emails to Chris? I'm pretty sure you figured out my real name by now... LOL! BIG thumbs up on customer service and order processing/shipping! Love the prices, too......

Clearos are just clear-tubed cartomizers of any sort, IMO, but I have noticed many calling the CE lines simply 'clearomizers', even though they still sell some with metal tubes...

I hate the lack of uniformity in the industry, along with brand obfuscation. I don't know if there's any fix for that on the horizon, so I'd probably make it a point to add an emphasized note in the description on these that they are polyfill cartos with clear tubes.

Those are great for DC carto users, as you can see how well you've filled them, and when to top them off. Probably not great for DCT users, I'd guess.
