Hi CrystalClaire,
I use a 3 ml syringe with a large gauge needle, because VG tends to be thick. It works great for filling cartos one at a time and I have a 12 ml for filling tank cartos. If you use more PG based then you be fine with a smaller gauge needle.
As for purchasing at CVS/Walgreens, I haven't checked. I got mine from a juice distributor.
I hope this helps you.

Does anyone know what size, type of syringes I should get to fill my cartos? Also, can these be purchased at walgreens, cvs etc...? Thanks!:)

I'd suggest a farm/ranch store like Tractor Supply ..... Walgreens will sell the syringe ....but not the needle.
A ranching supply will ..... Large gauge needles like 18-14 gauge ( smaller the number the larger the diameter of the needle). Tell them your vaccinating your cow :D

I use a 5ml syringe...it is an 18ga needle with a "sharps" point...some prefer a blunt tip but I find them...at times, to be hard to get between the carto wall and the filler...drugstores(along with veterinary/farm supply stores) usually have these behind the counter and you havvta ask/explain what you need them for...some states/localities have restrictions...I got mine from CCV with a(ny) carto order...several ecig vendors sell them as well as selling needle tipped bottles.........

Madjack nailed it. Personal preference, I like a 3ml better for filling cartos, still with 18 ga. sharp

I guess I should have said..."when I use a syringe"...I usually just drip-to fill(no extra hardware at all)...about the only time I use a syringe anymore is when filling with an 85%VG juice...a syringe is handy, when you are first starting out, to insure you have filled the carto completely, especially if filling an XL or dual coil carto............

I fill normal stuffing 1ml cartos without a syringe. I need to top them off during the day anyway and I am not going to carry a syringe.

If you get clear cartos many need a syringe. Some want a blunt syringe to go through pre-made holes in the seals. Some want a sharp syringe and need you to pierce some particular spot (I believe the joye brand reservoir cartos needed the sharp). If you use a syringe to fill stuffing cartos you go between the inner metal wall and the stuffing, For any you need a gauge that will let the thickness of your juice through. Thick high-VG juices will not go through thin syringes and in many cases will not work well in cartomizers.
