Totally new to temp control. Ordering a ipv d2. Plan on using my derringer rda dual coil with titanium. Now the questions. What gauge wire? What ohm reading would be a good start and is the mod reliable enough to check resistance? (I have a $20 meter for kanthal builds, is this gonna work?). Spaced or ( I prefer) "touching" coils? Tried to do my homework just want to verify what I think I should be doing. Thanks a bunch for any input,
Jim

I don't know anything about that mod so hopefully someone else will chime in.

Regarding Ti coils, I would start with spaced coils. No need in making your learning curve harder on first try.

Regarding wire gauges, I have used 28, 26 and 24.

28 is a good all rounder, 26 provides further stability at expense of wattage and 24... Well... I like it but you need to bump up your wattage another 30%

As a beginner I would go with 26awg, annealed and make sure it's grade 1.

7 wraps on a 2.5mm or 3mm mandrel would put you somewhere around 0.35 Ohms.

Make sure you have an atomizer with good solid connections. Avoid anything with spring loaded pins or where the spring is part of the circuit.

Rely on your mod to check resistance because, after all, it's going to be that resistance that the cpu will use to estimate temperature.

Good luck :)

Hi guys!

agree with everything Tony said but you might have to stay below 0.3 ohms on this one according to the spec. The TC ohm limit is very low for some reason! Keep it to 5 wraps and you should be good to go! The ramp time will be a bit better at some expense of loss of vapour maybe!
