LOL @ everyone recommending a subtank for an EVOD battery. Because EGO batteries are just really good for subohm vaping, right?

Hey everyone, what tank works really well with this:

EVERYONE: Get a subtank or a dripping atomizer. Day iz da bestest.

I want it.what mods does it work better with? I'm New to not just this forum but vaping.as of now I'm.running a kanger evod vv with protank 3,temporary till I get my own.I want a tank.not a dropper but want big clouds and good throat hit.....info??

For price, power, size, and feature set: iStick 20 - 30 watt or MVP3.

You need a battery device with more power than an Evod for any kind of clouds. The above two mods are small yet powerful enough for producing clouds with just about any juice attachment.

"Throat hit" is determined primarily by nicotine concentration in the e-liquid, and secondarily by the Pg/vg ration.

"Clouds" are determined by a variety of factors, including coil mass and resistance (ohms) and adequate air flow and adequate wicking. More clouds = increased e-liquid consumption.

Well, first off welcome to the forums.

Second, don't listen to a word anyone just told you. I'm ashamed that so many people here would make such obviously HORRIBLE recommendations.

Now, the first thing you need to do for bigger clouds is to upgrade your battery from that Evod to a proper VV/VW mod. A really good mod right now that works well for just about anyone is the iStick 30W. This would provide you with plenty of power to upgrade your vaping experience without breaking the bank.

Once you have a mod that can power it, I would highly recommend the Aspire Nautilus or Nautilus Mini over the Kanger Aerotank. I own both and between the two the Nautilus is the FAR better tank. Much better flavor and much better vapor production. It will give you everything you need as a novice, and then some. You can blow some nice sized clouds with a Nautilus if you want. 18-20 watts, select the largest air hole, and take a straight lung hit with about an 8-10 second draw. You'll be amazed at the result.

Now, subohming is a huge fad right now. Everyone wants to blow huge clouds. No one wants to tell you the dark side of subohming:

First, if you're buying prebuilt coils they cost about twice as much as Nautilus coils do and don't last anywhere near as long. If you want to make your own coils then you'll need a set of tools including an ohm meter, small screwdriver, wire cutters, a jig of some sort to wrap your coils around, and a butane torch is also helpful, as a minimum. You'll also need kanthal wire and wicking material such as cotton. You'll also use a LOT more liquid while subohming as well. What all of this means is that it's quite an investment to get into and more expensive to continue doing. You may not care, but at least be aware before you start.

Second, a major part of subohming is avoiding the throat hit. Subohming is best done when taking straight lung hits and to do that you really need the vapor to be smooth. Trying to do straight lung hits while getting a good throat hit will certainly lead to tons of coughing. It's pretty much one or the other, you really can't have both. If you're wanting a good throat hit you're better off staying with a tank like the Nautilus and doing mouth to lung hits.

And finally, subohming really isn't required to achieve large clouds. Lots of people think it is, but it just isn't. You can get the same clouds with a 1.5ohm coil if you've got the right wattage, airflow, and chimney size.

With a Kanger Sub Ohm tank I personally recommend the Kanger K-Box. This is purely based on my experience (very limited as I went from the Kanger Evod with protank 3 to the K-Box with the Aerotank mini, then to the Kanger Sub Ohm tank). You are somewhat limited as the VW is preset to 8,13,20,25,30,35 and 40, but Sub Ohming so far has been a blast! I was restricted to 8 Watts on the Aerotank, as 13 watts (even on the 1 Ohm coil) provided a burnt taste eventually. With the Sub Ohm tank and .5 coils, I am at 20 or 25 Watts normally with plumes spewing! I myself have mixed reviews on the Kanger OCC coils though. The first lasted like a week and a half (not bad), but the 2nd lasted a few days before burning up. The SO tank came as a kit and I am currently using the provided 1.2 coil. so far I love it. Just 2 pennies from my WOV (world of vaping).

Completely Average, I really wanted to get an experienced opinion on the Aspire Atlantis SO tank vs the Kanger SO tank. Where do you side? I have a feeling it will be Aspire.

Just a quick background (not too much detail), I was introduced to vaping a few months ago, and was really pushed onto Kanger products. I was happy initially, but at some point I went to a different, local vape shop and they recommended an Aspire BVC coil carto. It had a plastic tank and single coil and I laughed at it. I bought it for my girl cuz I was trying to get her off cigs and it was cheap. When I set it up for her and took a couple puffs, it hit better than the 1.5 dual coils in my protank 3! And, it held something like 2 1/2 - 3 mL where the Protank 3 hold like 1 1/2. Furthermore, the coil has been going strong for like a month! This really opened my eyes to Aspire products.

Sorry, but there I cannot help you. I have no experience with either of those tanks. On the rare occasion I do subohm I do it with an RDA and not a tank.

As I said before, I've got both the Aerotank and the Nautilus.

I purchased both when they were first introduced. At the time the Nautilus had a LOT of problems with it's BVC coils and the Aerotank coils had little wicks sticking out the side. Both had similar flavor with the Nautilus being only slightly better than the Kanger. Because the Kanger coils were cheaper and more reliable I used the Aerotank and felt I had wasted my money on the Nautilus.

Then Kanger changed their coil design. Instead of a slot with little wicks poking out the side it became a solid unit with holes in the side. The first one I put in I thought there was something wrong with it. The new coils really killed the flavor. Juices that I had used and were very familiar were suddenly flavorless, or at best very muted in flavor. I was disappointed to say the least.

Then Aspire released the BVC heads for their Nautilus line. It was an instant game changer. The flavor was far improved over the BDC coils, and virtually all of the other problems that the BDC coils had the BVC coils fixed. I could crank up the wattage far higher than I thought was possible (Currently using them at 19W) and they lasted a LONG time. Vaping a clear 50/50 peppermint mix the last coil I threw away had lasted a month before it needed to be changed. Never gurgled, leaked, or gave a single dry hit the entire time.

Since the release of the BVC heads I stopped using my Aerotank entirely. I actually broke it out just last night and tried to use it briefly while my new BVC coil was soaking up juice before I started using it. I tried to take several puffs but the lack of flavor and pitiful amount of vapor convinced me to empty it out, clean it up, and put it back in it's box where it is sure to stay until I throw it away. I can't believe was actually happy with that tank at one time.

The ONLY reason why I might consider a Kanger Subtank over the Aspire Atlantis is because the Subtank comes with a rebuildable deck so I could make my own coils. If I was limited the prefab coils I would buy the Atlantis without question, but being able to build my own coils for the Subtank changes everything. I don't have a problem with the Kanger tanks themselves, it's their coils I hate.

Gotcha, no worries. I am new but learning fast so I am getting anxious to start building my own coils. Once I am comfortable with my new Mech Mod from Sigelei (Little White), hence my handle on this site, I will start building. I can't seem to stop researching as every aspect of vaping interests me. I recently read about people rebuilding the factory Kanger OCC coils and that it was easier than the RBA they provide. If so, I have a whole bunch of "RBA"s because I stocked up on the .5 OCC coils!

Great Info. on the comparison between Aspire and Kanger coils, thanks. Will be testing the Nautilus and Atlantis next as I am a big flavor chaser. I like to tell myself that I'm not a cloud chaser but I am lying because it is F U N to see the thick clouds billow out. I find that if I pull too long and hard on the .5 (and even on 1.2) OCC coils at 20 - 25 W, flavor sometimes goes out the window and burnt wick taste comes in. Yuck. I also find that with some of my thicker VG juices, I have to cover the vent hole and "Prime" the wick so I don't get a dry hit.
