I bought a cheapo Ultrasonic cleaner to steep and other uses had some questions
1-How does this aid in steeping? Is it the cavitation? the ultrasonic waves?
2-How long should I keep the
juice in the machine?
3-Is there a time ratio, meaning does 1 minute of ultrasonic equal 1 day of steep?
Thanks in advance
Hey LarryPer,
Disclaimer: Im an unapologetic ultrasonic cleaner-
juice making fanatic.
1-How does this aid in steeping? Is it the cavitation? the ultrasonic waves?
Yes.
And dont forget the heating aspect of the process. All these factors contribute to the incredible reduction in steeping time.
The suggested strength of the tobacco flavoring I use is 1-2%. It takes 3 weeks for that 1-2% to molecularly mingle with the rest of the 98-99% nic/PG mix. Or 2 hours in the US cleaner.
2-How long should I keep the juice in the machine?
Until you can vape it and like it. Id start tasting/testing after an hour of ultra-sonic-ing. It all depends on what youre making. And my assumption is youre talking about
bottles of juice in the cleaner. I wouldnt put the mix directly into the cleaner for three reasons. I regularly make Liposomal Vitamin C in the cleaner, theres an increased chance of spillage transferring the juice to another container(s), and my wife wont let me.
3-Is there a time ratio, meaning does 1 minute of ultrasonic equal 1 day of steep?
Probably.
I havent taken the time to get that fine a point on the process. For my flavors (Desert Ship, Cowboy, a generic tobacco, and 555) 2 hours=3 weeks. But Im a 100% PG All Tobacco - All The Time vaper. If you use a PG/VG mix and non-tobacco flavors your time will probably vary. Ive read here on ECF people making non-tobacco e-liquid and vaping it up immediately. Tobacco seems to be the slowpoke.
And in my case increasing the % of the flavor didnt help at all. It just made it taste bad
quicker.

My first cleaner had a 3 minute cycle. Turning it on over and over and over again got to be a drag fairly quickly. If you scan through these threads:

youll see different models of cleaners with 30 minute timers. If you get good results youll probably want to upgrade.
Happy Vaping.
