I am looking at purchasing a new VV pv. I currently use a Provari and love it but the VV Grand looks interesting. I typically use dualcoil cartos with a tank setup. I have a few questions before I make my purchase.
How does using a carto with the Reo compare to a carto/tank. I am wondering if its easily flooded. How difficult is it to master using the squeeze bottle to keep the carto filled the right amount?
Does the voltage knob have clearly defined settings or is it like the ego twist style knob where you twist and try? Can you adjust the settings in small increments like 5.2, 5.3v?
And finally, the button on the site looks tiny and recessed but I have read on the forums about a new larger button coming out. Is that something I would have to special order and install?

Thanks for any help.

I cant help with the cartos as I use attys, but I do know several people use them on REOs and love them.

You can adjust in increments of .1, but there are no marks. (its a thumb wheel)

All of the new VV Grands come with the larger button now

IMO the vv grand and woodvil are amazing devices. Once again IMO you cant beat a bottom feeder and Robs are the best. I would recomend them to anyone.

Good Luck!!!

I've used cartos tanks for a long time with my provaris and refilling a carto tank can be a little messy at times, sometimes dual coil tanks over wick and leak from the bottom, You shouldn't have those issue with a reo you'll get to know when it has enough juice and when it needs a little more. I use a inline volt meter when I must know the voltage of my VV Reo most of the time I set it and forget it.

Welcome, jnnfrlsw :)

I don't use cartos either, but many Reonauts do. As a matter of fact lots of folks find them to be more user friendly than an atty.

The technique for juicing your atty or carto is really simple, but can take a few minutes or a few days to work out what works best for you. I tend to suggest counting your vapes between squonks and just get into a "rhythm".

The small recessed tactile button has already been replaced on all the new units. You won't need to do any work to it if you order one from reosmods.com. If you buy a used one from the classifieds that has the recessed tactile button, you can send it in to get the button replaced. Just make sure to contact Rob for details.

Hi jnnfrlsw,

I used carto's on my Grand for a long time before switching to atomizers. I did that just cuz for me the flavor is much better. While I never used the tank carto setup, I can comment on using carto's themselves. At first I'd fill the carto up, vape and then squonk a little just to keep the carto totally full. Then I got proficient enough to put on a totally brand new empty carto and squonk it full from the Grand's bottle without flooding. It's really pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I've never owned a Provari but can say that finding the sweet setting on my VV Grand was easy from the start. Just dial it up til you're pluming and the taste is right! Finally, a pitch for the mod. I absolutely love the convenience and ease of just filling the bottle and I'm off and running. Then swap it out the another as needed. I think tanks take a little more work? And the VV Grands are truly beautiful as I'm sure you've heard people gushing on this forum. But it's true! Also, IMO you simply can't find better customer service anywhere. Good luck!

I can't speak to the VVs, but I use cartos on my REOs exclusively. I have REO 18490s and cartos are all I have ever used. I do use attys on a small non-feeder box mod to try new flavors, but I don't use it all day every day like I do my REOs with cartos. For me, cartos are easy and the only time I get more juice than needed is when the carto starts to die. I put them on the REO dry, and give a few good squonks without firing, let it set for a minute and I get beautiful flavorful vapes. I use Boge LR 2.0s on mine and have no desire to switch to attys. I think your choice of carto or atty is a personal choice, based on your ideal flavor/heat combo. For me the cartos are perfect.
